It's not happening as quickly as I'd like, but it IS happening which is significant.

America is beating inflation as President Donald J. Trump leads the country into the new Golden Age with lower costs, higher pay, and economic opportunity for all.

Here’s what you need to know from the latest Consumer Price Index:

  • In May, inflation came in lighter than expected for yet another month.
    • Since President Trump took office, inflation has come in below economists’ expectations every single month.
  • Core inflation held steady and remains at the lowest level since March 2021.
    • Under President Trump, core inflation has tracked at just 2.0% on an annual basis — levels not seen since the first Trump Administration, when prices were low and stable.
  • Wage growth remains strong under President Trump.
    • In May, real wages for production and nonsupervisory workers saw the highest monthly increase in nearly a year — and have risen each month since President Trump took office, up nearly 2% over last year.
    • The average private sector worker is on track to see their real earnings increase by around $1,200, adjusted for inflation.
  • Prices for everyday Americans continue to fall.
    • Energy prices fell by 1.0% over the last month — down 3.5% over the past year.
    • Gasoline prices have fallen each month since President Trump took office, down 2.6% over the past month and down 12% over the past year.
    • Prices in key areas — such as meats, poultry, eggs, airfares, used and new cars, and apparel — all went down over the past month.

Here’s what they’re saying:

  • CNN’s Matt Egan: “We got ANOTHER month of positive inflation news. Despite these historic tariffs, the latest numbers do show that inflation remained relatively tame in May … This was better than expected … We did see a drop in energy prices. In particular, gas prices were low.”
  • CNBC’s Mike Santoli: “There’s no way to look at these numbers and say they’re not welcome news.”
  • CNBC’s Steve Liesman: “Not only did we get a decline in inflation expectations earlier this week from the important New York Fed report … I do not see broader impacts on inflation from the tariffs.”
  • CNBC’s Rick Santelli: “Inflation certainly looks like it is cooling.”
  • Fox Business Network’s Maria Bartiromo: “That is much better than expected.”
  • Commentator Adam Johnson: “Now we’re talking about numbers that are down in the low twos — under 2.5% — and we’re seeing that now for three months in a row, so this is wonderful news.”

Inflation has already ticked up and the tariffs have not even taken effect, YET.

If Trump doesn't TACO, they will shift into OVERDRIVE.

This looks to be seasonal. And according to the previous year’s data (pre-Trump), it’s actually gone down.

I understand what is happening but I'm not sure you do. My argument is that the rules of economic gravity does not apply to Trump. He is a magician, it even says so in the data.

Says there vehicle sales for New and used is actually less. If anything, Trump's tariff is decreasing inflation contrary to naysayer.

So not only do you not understand what happened in April, you're unable to read a bar chart.

㊙️ Inflation is going UP. And the tariffs are COMING to give it a BOOST..

These are the instrument of your surrender.

Let me try to help you help me. Tariff only affect internationally traded goods. Negative signs means a decrease. The product most affected by international trade are commodities, (local services and goods (food) are not subject to tariff). So look at  commodities, and explain to me what that negative number mean? I will only accept a full and unconditional surrender @robosmith.

It’s July, more than 3 months after liberation day. Tariff came already, yet inflation is down when adjusted for seasonal.

Enjoy your fascist sh*thole Americans.  It's what you voted for.

We voted for an economic wizard. Look I understand the skepticism but so far Trump is able to defy the law of economics. So unless you’re a spiteful Canadian who is in-fact paying for the tariff, you should be grateful for stable genius president Trump.

Trump is not doing this to hurt Canadians, he offered 51st. You can pick between fourth world status or being an American. You chose to be worse off than Somalia whose GDP per capita is growing unlike Canada. It’s not Americans that wanted this. It’s you Canada.

So you don't understand that "liberation day" is where Trump got the insult TACO?

Those tariffs never happened. I believe they were postponed to early August. LMAO

TACO is part of the tariff plan. Game theory call it escalate to de-escalate. This is how you achieve the benefit of tariff without the down side. Tariff uncertainty drives away investment to the country being tariff while encouraging investment into your own country.

You must be joking. On again, off again tariffs tell everyone you're not serious.

That's why the markets no longer tank on Trump's word. And the courts have ruled they are illegal cause NO AUTHORITY.

No one is going to make investment plans in that environment. Esp not investing in US factories which only work if they can count on the tariffs.

They are waiting for the dust to settle. I’m not worried. Mainly because there is nowhere else to go. Europe and Asia aged out, they are net exporter not consumers. Africa while having a younger consumption demographic do not have a stable market that isn’t subject to extortion by warlords and conflict as the Chinese are finding out. The US is the only sizable market left to sell goods to. Trump just ask that you setup shop in America. Don’t forget, our economy is still the envy of the world. So if you’re a Bernie sander type you should support Trump’s tariff policy as that would enable organized labor once again.

No one cares that "you're not worried."

And Trump keeps LYING that other nations are paying the tariffs.

You know that's a LIE, don't you.

All those agreements that Trump is announcing are going to completely fall apart when the courts rule he has NO AUTHORITY. MAYBE he can get Congress on board if he tries before the midterms. LMAO

Any treaty will need to be ratified by congress sure, but executive agreement are good until he leaves office.

Technically speaking, tariff are negotiated between the importer and suppliers. Some split the tariff per negotiated contract.
This misses the point however. It’s irrelevant as to who pays, because the end result is higher cost to buy. This encourages local manufacturing at a certain price point.

Far from "irrelevant." This whole thing is to trade a major cut in the progressive income tax for a highly REGRESSIVE SALES TAX on imports.

Trump is NOT doing the tariffs YOU DESCRIBE.

Well obviously the sales tax affects poor people more than me. Why should I care?

Because robomarx is obsessed with making sure illegal aliens get their fair share of U.S. tax dollars.
