It is just for show and politics. They have no authority over federal agents and how they operate.

But it's amazing what they get away with when they are relentless.

Meh. Some of you guys aren't going to like it but honestly I kind of feel that they should be showing badges at the very least.

Police officers are required to identify themselves or at least prove that their police officers and that's not an unreasonable ask. If you don't have that anybody could pull up and claim to be a police officer.

I don't know if New York has got any authority to deal with that but it is in my opinion fair to say that if you are going to enforce the law you have to be able to prove you're a peace office

They do wear badges and they wear easily identifiable markings on their jackets and vests identifying as ICE, CBP, Homeland Security, FBI... etc...

The story would have you believe that that's not true that they're basically unmarked people driving unmarked cars wearing masks. Not that I believe news stories farther than I can throw them but are you sure?

Yes, very sure. Just about any picture you can find of ICE arrests, you can see badges.

They might be on the vest, on their belt, on a chain around the neck…

and this was from the article too:

"Additionally, Comptroller Lander has clearly never been on an ICE operation because he would see our officers verbally identify themselves, wear vests that say ICE/ERO or Homeland Security, and are flanked by vehicles that also say the name of the department. When our heroic law enforcement officers conduct operations, they clearly identify themselves as law enforcement. These arguments are getting a little desperate."

The thing people, especially those on the left who don't care to understand, don't seem to get about ICE is that they are not the average patrol officer just wandering the streets like a patrol officer. The arrests we are seeing  are a very tactical and precise engagement where they are effecting an arrest that was planned, they know the target, they have the warrant or probable cause. It is more like a SWAT team engagement at that point, they are moving in to apprehend someone and then they are gone.

They wear more urban / tactical clothing to effect those arrests without giving themselves away... because, guess what, when illegal immigrants see big fashy officers in uniform and lights coming... the don't tend to stick around.

Also, ICE is operating under duress and threat from leftist violence and obstruction. So the quicker they can move in undetected and unnoticed, make the arrest, and leave, the better for everyone.

Badges I'm fine with. I just don't want the agents' identities exposed.

If democrats are so worried about "kidnappings" then they'd best get onboard with legalized immigration.

I don't think even police officers have their actual names on their gear anymore do they? I'm pretty sure they just have a number or the like so people can identify them to their superiors if necessary but can't dox them. Which is fine

Up until now, Democrats had no problem with kidnapping. That is why they loved not separating kidnapped children from adults at the border. And those were actual, verifiable kidnapping cases rather than these hypothetical cases they are so so so worried about.

Don't you think that if I were wrong that I would know it?

They are all such a phony bunch. They cheered on the DOJ abuse of power when they sent a full on SWAT team to arrest a pro-life man wrongly.

Great point. Plus, arresting a woman for protesting abortions was perfectly fine. I'm pretty sure they didn't even want a trial.

Interesting how an ECHO CHAMBER requires ZERO EVIDENCE and everyone in it just eats up the BULLSHIT.

Zero evidence for what? What BS?

Can you ever actually try to engage honestly here? For once, surprise us.

The two of your would have turned in your neighbours.

And you would have been the one who ignored the criminal who then goes on to rape and murder your neighbor and then you would still pretend like it didn't happen and not care.

The Nazis rise to power was a direct result of the violence and intolerance of the communists  of the day

And once again it is you and your fellow socialist types who are driving the rise of the current agenda. You attacked trump relentlessly with lawfare. You're kind of loud migrants to illegally enter the country in massive droves and protected them. You allowed government agencies to blow beyond all reasonable size. And you're overspending like inflation that meant people couldn't afford food or gas or homes

Now you're soooooo upset  and only "just" figuring out why people got angry and decided trump's agenda is preferable to more of that.

Maybe clue in a little earlier next time. Oh and by the way, you think you can't happen in Canada? It's inevitable
