The Main Estimates suggest that message of restraint fell on deaf ears in Ottawa: total budgeted spending is scheduled to rise 7.75 per cent to $486.9 billion this fiscal year across 130 federal organizations (compared to last year’s Main Estimates). The government will ask Parliament to vote on $222.9 billion of spending measures, a 14 per cent increase on last year’s estimates.

 

The most egregious spending appears to be on consultants. The estimates reveal that budgetary expenditure by “standard object”  — in this case, “professional and special services” — are set to hit $26 billion this year, if departments are granted the approvals they are seeking (the estimates are an “up to” amount; departments could spend less).

 

Consultants are how they reward their friends by the way.  When carney steps away from politics he will be asked to sit on the boards of these companies he's hiring as consultants now and they will pay him back for giving them free money contracts while he was prime minister.

 

He is absolutely no different than Justin Trudeau. He is an identical carbon copy. Canada will continue to sink because liberals are too stupid to learn from their mistakes

Buuut, he is a banker, economist from harvard, he walks on water and "shoots lighting from his arse" and can shut down a journalist with a stare and curt comment....He is going to fix Canada....Trump places new tariff on our lumber and Carneys reply was we will put tariffs where they benefit canada and hurt the US the most.....we are still waiting....

I believe he's a banker all right, he sure knows how to borrow money. 

We should have bets on what the deficit is this year when it's finally calculated next year.  I"m betting it's at or just over 100 billion.  Which is why he doesn't want to produce a budget.  Then next spring he'll say "Look at my great budget! It forecasts 90 billion in deficit which is way down from last year"  and by then everyone will forget he promised 60 billion in his election platform.

What I'm saying is it bothers me that you spend so much of your time sitting around imagining that I have no life whatsoever and obsessing over it. That can't be mentally healthy, Based on how much you come on here and attack me you must spend a good portion of your day thinking about me.

I spend less than actual hour or so on the form every day, I just glance at it and whip off a reply. But you spend hours obsessing over me and 90% of your posts on this forum are you trying desperately to attack me or defend yourself from looking stupid over something dumb you said to me.
