I hear you...I just know however that getting governments out of the way means undoing building codes and standards that ensure people's health and safety, protect the environment, maintain a neighborhood's character etc. It always sounds so easy to say cut red tape until it comes to cutting it. Even easier for a federal politician given it's provinces municipalities and regional districts largely responsible for the tape. Easier still to blame another federal politician for the problem despite none of them being in much of a position to do anything. It costs around $400 per square foot to build a new house to local conformance where I live.
