Fluffypants Posted December 26, 2024 Report Posted December 26, 2024 What do you think does it go smooth? I think it will for the most part, it feels different from 2016 this time it feels like the Democrats are just going to accept it, I am not seeing as much fight talk and talk of trying to keep him out like last time. I haven't seen a commercial from celebrities trying to beg electors not to vote for Trump. I think they made such a big deal about Jan 6th that they won't be dumb enough to trying anything at the Capital. Quote
West Posted December 27, 2024 Report Posted December 27, 2024 Democrats are professional poo flingers so they'll make total fools of themselves. My guess is what's in store for the new year and up to the mid terms is poo flinging against the conservative base by false allegations of pedophilia and money crimes. Democrats just can't help themselves when it comes to abusing the system for political advantage Quote
User Posted December 27, 2024 Report Posted December 27, 2024 Well... there was ANTIFA riots and vandalism the first time in 2016... Quote
impartialobserver Posted December 27, 2024 Report Posted December 27, 2024 There will be some protestors at the inauguration but they will be largely noise and nothing else. Otherwise, should go fairly smooth. Just think of this time in 2020.. there was plenty of indications that the losing side was not going to sit by and watch. It is remarkably quiet on the Democrat front right now. Quote

I think that the average meat and potatoes lefty was far more invested emotionally in hillary than the current ones are in Kamala. Hillary won her nomination and the left were still riding the high of the first black president which they considered to be a monumental success. Now they had the first woman president and her polling suggested she would win. I don't think they like to come out in nearly as much, she never won a primary or even a primary vote, I think the party was very disillusion when it became obvious that they had been lied to with regards to Joe Biden who they did nominate only a short time earlier. So while I'm sure they're just about as pissed that trump got in, they seem more resigned to it and more willing to accept that it happened even if they are unhappy with the result. So I think things will go a little smoother at least to begin with. 1 Quote There are two types of people in this world: Those who can extrapolate from incomplete data

The last 2 elections were decided by razor thin margin and because of Covid in 2020 there were a lot of rules changed for voting that left the door open to questions of cheating. I think what really decides how elections are reacted to is when there is this outside chance their candidate won or should of won. Edited December 27, 2024 by Fluffypants Quote

This is a great point. The media narrative then too was that she was clearly going to win. Most if not all the polls were showing she was going to win. Trump was being dismissed as an obvious no-one who clearly wouldn't win. Quote

Generally speaking people don't riot when the connects don't win the Stanley Cup every year I think they accept that Kamala was a long shot that didn't pay off Quote There are two types of people in this world: Those who can extrapolate from incomplete data
