It took the Americans awhile to wake up to what was happening in that country & have finally voted for common sense. Canada, OTOH is the opposite. We're STILL not awake. We complain about the cost of things, the high taxes & the extreme biase against the West & still vote against our own best interests. I HOPE Pierre wins the next election but who knows. Unless Eastern Canada wakes up to what is going on, we'll likely have another minority government & there's SFA we can do. I suggest that we implement laws that would allow Canadians to either "impeach" or "recall" elected officials for deraliction (sp) of duty because as it stands now, we're stuck with a PM who care not a bit about our country & simply sees us as cash cows to benefit him. He implements rules & regulations that are unconstitutional but he doesn't care. He simply goes against the courts rulings. Between now & a potential 2025 election, there's absolutely NOTHING we can do to get rid of the a/o currently in office. We have cowards for politicians & could easily have an election if they had the intestinal fortitude to call for a non-confidence vote so we can have a much needed & desired election. The local branch tosses them out and lets some hobby farmers have some sometimes. The manager has told the staff, repeatedly that 'Food Regulations" make it illegal to give to a food bank. Saw them throw out tens of thousands of dollars worth of cheese because there was a 10 hour power failure. Cheese blocks wrapped in plastic that everyone who's ever left one out overnight knows doesn't go bad. Thrown out, not sold at a discount, not donated, right into the trash. And not one single employee thought anything about it because that was 'policy'. Any wonder why I can buy their house brand Feta at another store down the road for FIVE DOLLARS LESS? Or why those potatoes, priced at $2.49 a lb in their store are selling for 89¢ at that other store? Or how potatoes grown and sold in Canada are in anyway affected by the exchange rate? Absolutely nothing has changed. And even if it were legal to give the slightly off cheese to a food bank it wouldn't change the prices that they charge you for that cheese when you actually purchase it. I don't just mean bad politics or bad policy, I'm talking about actual corruption. When the old PC party became actually corrupt conservative voters wiped it the F out. It is gone. And we've seen in the provinces numerous times parties punished to the point of Extinction or even wiped out when corruption raises its head. This was true of the old Alberta PC party, it was true of the social credit party in British Columbia, it is now true of the liberal party in British Columbia, And it was true of the British Columbia NDP where it was reduced to two seats when corruption was revealed there.
