Firearm buyback program has cost $67M, zero guns collected | CTV News

Yep, that's right. 67 million and climbing and it still hasn't collected a single gun. That's 67 million that could have gone to policing, border security, a whole bunch of other things that would have potentially made Canada more safe.

Instead it's down the toilet with more to follow.

People ask how it will be possible for Poilievre to reduce the deficit without cutting essential services. Basically he just has to not wind up being a complete dick head like Trudeau

  1. Was that money really "wasted", or did LPOC cronies get gobs of money to create anti-gun-owner propaganda, sit on committees, and draft draconian legislation?
  2. I have a feeling that the 'program' was just sitting in the background like a 900-lb gorilla, waiting for a big media event (school shooting, etc) to help create moral outrage, at which point our RCMP would set laws and the constitution aside like they did in High River

If CNN gave an infinite number of monkeys an infinite number of typewriters, leftists would believe everything they typed.

If you missed something on the Cultist Narrative Network, don't worry, the dolt horde here will make sure everyone hears it.

but the crazy thing is, Canadian gun control only bans firearms by make and model rather than type

so even after this ban / buy back,

there are plenty of automatic rifles which are still legal in Canada

take for example the Kodiak defence WK180C

this Armalite Rifle is still legal in Canada, you can buy one right now for $1499.99 CAD

kodiak-defence-wk180c-gen2-556-nato-187.

the ironic thing is, because this rifle was specifically designed to exploit nonsensical Canadian gun laws

it's only legal in Canada

America actually bans this rifle, because America has a ban on importing "Assault Weapons" from other countries

yet in Canada, it is not even listed as Restricted Class, never mind Prohibited

the average Canadian has no clue how ludicrous Canadian gun laws actually are

they think "Assault Weapons" are banned in Canada

but that is not actually the case, since under Canadian law, there is no such thing defined

you can only ban guns under Canadian law by the exact make & model

any make & model which is not specifically banned, is still actually legal

so long as it complies with some archaic Canadian functionality regulations

none of which actually prohibit a semi automatic action rifle per se

the Kodiak WK180C is 5.56x45mm, direct impingement gas operated automatic rifle

basically a Canadian street legal C7 minus sustain fire automatic seer

There's probably some truth to that, god knows they interfered with the police in the atlantic shooter's case to try to make legal guns look bad just to push the agenda forward.

But honestly I think he just couldn't afford it and The bad publicity that would come with it without having a majority government. If he had won a majority then he could easily have done it right away and 4 years later it's forgotten and if there's cost overruns oh well it's already happened. But in a minority situation it's a little different and he has to look at the political benefit of spending billions of dollars and giving that money to people who are almost certainly will turn around and give it right back to the CPC.
