blackbird Posted August 21, 2024 Report Posted August 21, 2024 (edited) "If an agreement is not reached, there is a growing likelihood that Tehran, which has been signaling its readiness to attack Israel for several weeks, will follow through on its threats. This could lead to a direct confrontation between Israel and Iran, which the United States and its allies have been trying to avoid since the conflict began on October 7." There is the reason right there. Israel has reportedly already agreed to the cease fire deal, but Hamas has not. Hamas is hoping to bring Iran, Hezbollah, and others into a major war against Israel. That is the only logical reason I can see for Hamas refusing to sign a cease fire deal with Israel. Gaza ceasefire deal on edge of collapse - Politico (msn.com) Iran attacking Israel will be the greatest thing to happen to that country. Israel will obliterate them within a week, and the Islamic regime will end, liberating all women and minorities. First things firsts, though. Israel needs to finish off the Palestinian Holocaust, so they have no distractions. Edited August 21, 2024 by DUI_Offender Quote

Its in Hamas' best interest, to both turn Israel into a pariah and engage as many of their allies as possible to join them, in attacking them. On their own, they don't stand a chance. Hezbollah, Iran and several other proxies at once? This would be sufficient to overwhelm Israels defense systems and inflict significant damage on their military assets. This is to be avoided, as it to me it would seem that this by default could draw the US and its allies into the fray, making the gravity of this war quite severe. The US definitely will not stand idly when its key ally is being picked on by multiple countries. Expect heavy handed air and sea support to be provided. Quote
User Posted August 22, 2024 Report Posted August 22, 2024 Well, I have not seen the terms of this ceasefire, but if Israel signed on, I imagine it no longer includes the absurd language that they must 100% withdrawal from Gaza areas. Hamas will only agree to a deal where they both get to live on and they can resume their operations to smuggle weapons in. Every other ceasefire deal before this has been absurd and the fact that the US was pushing that garbage onto Israel is an outrage. I only hope Israel didn't sign onto such garbage this time too. Jeffrey Weinstein Posted September 23, 2024 Report Posted September 23, 2024 "In July, Hamas initially approved a US-proposed plan for a phased ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, abandoning its key demand for a complete cessation of the war by Israel."---Politico This appears to be a contradiction in terms. A phased ceasefire is protracted to end war not continue it. Both sides know each others' intentions very well and will settle for nothing less than complete dominance in the conflict as the resolution. There is no hope for ever getting the hostages back alive. The two sides are unwilling to compromise their goal of total domination of the territories they claim for themselves. Life has no meaning for Netanyahu, conflict and war are the only events keeping him out of prison, as it has been for a long time. 1 Quote
NAME REMOVED Posted December 2, 2024 Report Posted December 2, 2024 Trump just posted this an hour ago. This could mean Gaza's days are numbered. I bet all those Muslims who voted for Trump, to spite Harris, are feeling quite foolish. Quote
