A place for "things that make you go Hmmmmm..."

Not sure if anyone has heard about the issues with Boeing airplanes falling apart recently:

but there's been a spate of whistleblowing going on at Boeing and so far, 2 of them have died under mysterious circumstances:

Boeing is facing ten more ‘safe and sound’ whistleblowers after two die suddenly | The Independent

First, John Barnett, 62, a quality control engineer at Boeing for 32 years, and a witness in ongoing litigation, was found dead at a hotel in March, reportedly from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He was found in his truck while staying at a hotel while in town to give a deposition in the case. It seemed like a strange time to kill himself.

Then last week, the whistleblower bodycount ticked up again after Joshua Dean, 45, who worked as a quality auditor at Spirit AeroSystems, died suddenly after a “short illness.” The healthy, athletic auditor and whistleblower had an ‘active lifestyle.’ But alas, he died in the hospital after getting a “fast-moving infection” arising from the flu, which quickly became MRSA, and then he got pneumonia on top of all that and it was all over.

I sure hope the ten new Boeing whistleblowers have their life insurance policies paid up.

Haha, just kidding. Mostly.

If these guys didn't die, would we be talking about Boeing's atrocious record?

I think it's been in the news quite a bit because the last flight I took, I checked to see what kind of airplane I was supposed to be travelling on.

Shouldn't we be talking about Boeing's atrocious record?

Call me an optimist:

-Boeing engineers will continue to build really good airplanes

-I reckon Americans will somehow figure out how to sustain their generous federal pay-as-you-go social security system. The US Constitution has survived many knots.

-Russians will somehow survive.
