This is not about the Liberal's inaction for the 13 years they have been in power, nor is it about their pattern of broken promises.

It is about Corruptions. Deep-seated, by the looks of it. And deeply troubling and scary for me, as a citizen in this country.

This election campaign had somehow revealed glimpses of the true face of the Liberal party. This "win at all cost" attitudes that emerged paint a very stark and disturbing profile of the party.

I will not bother with Goodale's ethical lapse in refusing to step aside for the sake of keeping Canadians' trust in our system of government while the investigation goes on, or Martin's major lack of leadership in handling this scandal. Martin's loyalty to friends is commendable. But his loyalty to the interest of our country is deplorable.

These are instances that I found to be revealing of the true nature of this party.

1. The Conservative and Liberal candidates that have been both dumped by their respective parties are not the same when it comes to the implication behind their "crimes".

The difference is that with the Liberal candidate bribing the NDP with a GUARANTEED victory in another upcoming election suggests that Liberal higher-ups in powerful positions are involved.

And for them to be able to guarantee a win, does this mean....votes can be fixed?

We now know that corruptions run deep under the governance of this party. It is now a question of just how deeply?

2. And now Martin wants to tinker with notwithstanding clause. To suit his own vision for the kind of Canada he wants. Some may say it was dumb of him to even think about that. But history is peppered with dumb and mad leaders.

3. The outright twisting of statements by Martin, boldly and baldly, suggests that he has no reservations at all when it comes to lying. He accuses his opponent of the very same thing that he himself was guilty about.

How do I trust this man? How do I trust the Gomery Commission that this man had appointed?

4. Martin had no compunctions in demonizing our own military as a pawn, he had no reservations in planting seeds of doubts and distrust towards the military. He accused the military of a conspiracy with Harper to wrest power from a democratic government to install a dictatorship/martial law. He is sowing fear.

Do foreigners want to invest or put up businesses in a country that could suddenly become "unstable" when Harper comes into power? With this dire warning from Martin, will foreign investors wait and see what form of government Harper will establish before they come to our shores? Who knows, we might end up having a civil war?

With all these big businesses recently announcing closures.....do we really need this kind of mongering from Martin at a time like this, when people are losing jobs?

5. And now he is drawing his ultimate weapon. Using women as pawns to prop up his toppling party.

As if talking to innocent little children, he addresses the women and scares them about the boogeyman.

As if women are not so informed...and as if they've got only fluffs between their pretty little ears.

As if they do not have the ability...and their little pea brains do not have the capacity to see through con and lies.

I guess he thinks his charisma is irresistible. He is confident he can even get away at showing this contempt for women, packaged of course, with all the feel-good, fuzzy, nice trimmings.

These are the things I found revealing for me. How about you?

Good post, but Martin is stumbling along asserting that 'the Liberals will win' maybe he knows something about the voting irregularities in Edmonton ;)

Martin is a disappointment, I had thought he would be a better leader, and his duplicity is stunning. I'm guessing most people saw through his notwithstanding clause manipulation. All I can say is the shenanigans and low down tactics from the liberal camp has hit an all time low, not the kind of people I want representing me.

Here's hoping for some accountability and ethics finally.

A couple of days ago Harper was in a big rally in Toronto. As he was speaking, there were shouts from the side which was off-camera. The people on the stage, including Harper all turned towards the direction of the shouts. The camera panned towards the direction. Two men wearing clown noses were jeering at Harper.

Security calmly led the two out. Harper just brushed it off and continued with his speech.

A PC candidate guesting in radio talk received a call from a "viewer" who accused him of sexual assault on-air. The candidate denied the accusation. The call was traced to a Liberal campaign headquarters.

Axworthy, the Liberal candidate made the defense pitch....the same old re-hashed line that we've been hearing over and over again since Chretien: We'll look into this and if we find out there is any truth to this, the guilty will pe punished.

A Conservative candidate attended a debate. I can't remember where this took place. After the debate the candidates were milling around with the people still in the hall. A man sort of tried to corner the Conservative guy and asked him a question about the US, saying "You did not answer my question!"...I didn't get the question. The Conservative guy looked intimidated by the very aggressive tone and stance of the man....who had an in-your-face attitude, getting into his space. The Conservative tried to ignore the questions. I think security or concerned individuals managed to steer the aggressive guy from the Conservative. A seemingly concerned guy came to him and asked what it was all about. The Conservative said the guy wants him to answer a ridiculous question that he have no answer to. Then this seemingly concerned guy became hostile and aske hima question...something like ...Canada becoming a new State of the USA! Obviously those two men were together. It was a concerted effort to embarassed and ruin this candidate. The PC candidate backed out from the guy and proceeded to leave. On the way, an elderly woman stopped to give him support saying, "I'm glad you did not bother with those two."

Yesterday on the news, they showed a woman reporter trailing a group of men, calling out, "Excuse me sir, can I talk to you?" repeatedly. It was a Conservative candidate. The tone of the woman was hostile. The men continued. A man, probably from Security, came from behind and touched the woman's shoulder to get her attention. She suddenly whirled around and jabbed a finger to his face, hissing and spitting, "Don't you dare touch me! Don't you dare touched me."

What next? I hope it don't get violent.

Hard to disagree with that.

I was cruising on rabble the other day (have to take a gravol first). There was a thread were some were advocating violence if the CPC should win.

Does anyone see the NDP and Liberal party merging any time soon?

Yes, a Quebec reporter, obviously not a Tory fan and making no bones about it. I considered her actions shrill, crude, and ill-mannered. This is a television reporter? I thought they were supposed to have some measure of dignity and professionalism.

Then again, nerves are fraying on the left at the advent of a conservative government, and she was probably desperate to get some kind of dirt she could throw onto the airwaves.

What a wonderful example of tolerance and respect. :( Betsy can stand up for herself but I couldn't help but respond to this shallow attack from someone who obviously does not realize that the Reform party no longer exists, unfortunately. Makes me wonder who is paying you.

I read that in the paper today too.

Shame, they are begging for a Conservative candidate to say something pro-life for the cover of tomorrow's paper.

The first day in Parliament, PM Harper should, as a joke, introduce some extreme social right-wing legislation and then be like "just kidding." :D

That would be funny...

No, he would never tease the so-cons in his party like that. They would vote yes before realizing the so-called humour.

Since when is anyone required to talk to a reporter eh? She was quite freaky. I know a few people that would act like that, and they in general aren't people with enough brains to come up with decent questions to ask anyways.

It just amazes me, it really does. So, are you a member of the CPC? Do you volunteer or are you paid?

No intimidation intended, I just think you are, are you able to be honest in return?

Are you a member of the liberal party? Really, why does it matter who's a member and who isn't? Maybe there are 'paid liberal shills' on here, who knows eh.

Let Betsy answer, its a fair question. I don't think a party would bother paying someone to come here. It's not enough votes for the price.

I'm a member of both the CPC and NCC just to be honest, I've never hidden either. Prior to the CPC I was a member of the PCs.

No, we have not had the chance to become members of the Conservative Party this year, although last year we were.

Wouldn't it be nice if I were being paid doing this? Unfortunately I'm not. Although I've toyed with the idea of volunteering. Maybe next election.

What is so amazing about this?

I have to admit that this election campaign has got me glued to Mike Duffy twice a day, with CPAC tv running at intervals. I joked that this election campaign had become what hockey is to hockey fans. I like it that it's happening at winter time...it sort of takes the winter blahs away.

I dread the boring days to follow after it's all over! My information come from tv or the radio CBC btw.

It's just my nature to tend to be passionate over issues that interest me...and this election is very crucial, imho.

Like I said, the Liberals scare me. That may be hard for others to understand since they'e all been looking at Harper with wary eyes. But because of what I've experienced under Marcos' rule....I can somehow see some similarities!

Although I've graciously acquiesced and answered you...I do resent the pressure you put upon me to have to explain myself for just expressing my views.

You have branded me a "witch" and put me on the "stand" just like we're in the time of the Inquisition.

All these, for just expressing my views.

You wrote- " All these for just expressing my views "

This shows the contempt and hatred towards a party that somehow might undue the work of years of poor weak corrupt leadership that as removed the ingredients necessary for a fair, just society one free of personal goals to one concentrating on a united Canada with the type of leadership that is applicable to everyone, everywhere.

Let's only hope that the voters of Canada will see the light and vote Conservative while there still time left to save Canada from what many see as the road to destruction and the end to Canada as we know it.

Hardly a witch hunt, I am just very surprised that your frequent post sound just like the talking points.

And to Scriblett, yes I am a member of the Liberal Party. Membership isn't what I wondered about, I wanted to know if she was a paid shill. Her answer was open and honest, and I appreciate that.

Betsy... carry on. My apologies.
