Who says he did? Nobody involved with the transaction says he did. Valuations are subjective, Trump will say what he thinks its worth and the bank will tell him what they think its worth. This is how it works.

There is no precedence for what they did to him. Why did they go for civil vs criminal? Why aren't feds jumping on the bandwagon here? Everyone knows this will get overturned. There are 0 damages to anyone.

The Governor said the quiet part out loud and essentially told business owners don't worry we won't come after you, we just wanted Trump.

They know this will get overturned but it hamstrings Trump in short term.

Do you really think that all these cases are trying to be completed in an election year is a coincidence? Come on you liberals have to know this is wrong but you don't care because you are getting what you want.

Nothing you’ve said is true.

  1. Valuations are objective. There are professional appraisers and GAAP procedures for assessing valuations. And while there is variability, it is not by a factor of 100X as Trump often used. You don’t “invent” a valuation, you use an independent appraiser, OR, you can follow the commonly accepted practice of comparing to recent transactions. When Trump was asked how he evaluated his properties, under oath, he said he relies upon instincts. Other witnesses said he simply told his staff how much he needed the properties evaluated at and then they worked backwards to arrive at those results.
  2. They went for civil because that’s what the law says.
  3. The laws he violated in this case were state laws. But you might have noticed that the Feds are plenty busy with Trump these days.
  4. The Governor of New York does not have authority over which cases the independently-elected State Attorney General chooses to prosecute.
  5. There is absolutely no legal basis for overturning this ruling. You didn’t read the judge’s decision, you’re just regurgitating talking points.
  6. The cases would have been completed sooner, except Trump spent years blocking the release of his tax returns, getting the US AG to take the fight for him while he was President, and engaging in every delay tactic that $50 million can buy you… which is a lot.

To appeal, he must put up the money. Trump said in a sworn deposition that he has $400 million in cash on hand. Guess we’ll find out if that’s true, won’t we?

Just curious: With all of Trump’s talk talk talk… What is the legal basis of his appeal? Did he not lie on all of those signed documents?

Yes we will. I think He's asked for more time to pay and that Libbie judge rejected it.

I have no idea what legal basis he appeals on. What I know is that if he's not allowed to run for President, his antics will probably be the least of America's worries.

Its so lonely in m'saddle since m'horse died.

Trump Has One Week To Pay $83.3 Million To E. Jean Carroll

Quote

Donald Trump’s scramble to cover millions in legal fines could start to come to a head next week, as the ex-president has only until next weekend to pay the $83.3 million verdict in E. Jean Carroll’s defamation lawsuit unless a court rules otherwise — and Carroll expressed ‘very serious concerns’ Thursday about Trump’s ability to pay.

I think he regrets claiming to have $400M in cash UNDER OATH.
