Special Counsel Seeking Gag Order on Trump in Election Case

Special counsel Jack Smith has filed a 19 page motion in DC Federal Court to impose a limited gag order on defendant Donald Trump. 

The gist is that Trump’s daily verbal attacks of judges and prosecutors will lead to witness and jury intimidation. 

In separate news, Mitt Romney reported that many Republican Senators refused to convict Trump in his impeachment due to fear of physical attacks on themselves and their families. I can think of few more cowardly acts.  So this provides further evidence that Trump’s “truth” posts will result in witness and jury intimidation by Trump supporters. 
 

We are a nation of law and not mob rule.  The rule of law cannot be intimidated by mobs and threats of violence. Trump must be gagged, or his bail revoked, and I expect that we will see this order come down by Monday.

Yeah - obviously the stated reason is complete bullshit.  The more likely reason is that every time he talks he seems to go up in the polls and the Dem supporters are sick of seeing their efforts to shame him result in his approval rating going up.

He is on trial(s) for breaking federal and state laws.

The point is he is trying to interfere with the US justice system for his own benefit of escaping punishment for his illegal actions. Duh

No, the point is that they wanted all of this to hurt him, not to help him. And every time he speaks out it helps  him in the polls, he's slightly ahead of biden now which is the opposite of what they want.

Trump is trying to CORRUPT the judicial process. It is the EVIDENCE that matters and Trump will lose if he can't disrupt the PROCESS of courts evaluating EVIDENCE impartially.

The reason Trump is intimidating prosecutors, judges and witnesses is because he is guilty, he knows it, and so he’s resorting to desperation.

I doubt he's actually intimidating anyone.  The reason he's talking tough is it wins him support and votes.  He's always been like this. It's kind of dumb to suggest that it's because he's guilty - you'd expect an innocent man to be more likely to be angry about being accused.  We know hunter biden is guilty for example and you don't hear him 'threatening' anyone.
