Travel expenses should come out of pocket when mom wants to murder her unborn.

Tuberville is doing the right thing.

So you are saying that any senator should be able to block military appointments to advance their own ideology regardless of what that ideology is or which party they belong to. The only reason travel expenses are necessary is because of people like Tuberville and states like Alabama.

No, I'm saying any senator has a right to stand his ground, just like the Defense Secretary is standing HIS ground. The Senator is right, the DS is wrong. The DS needs to pull his head out of his a$$ so that appointments can be made.

So you are saying any senator can hold up appointments for any reason they choose. A Democrat senator should be able to stall military appointments until they get their way for a pet project or specific ideology of theirs.

I'm saying the senator is standing up for what's right. The DS needs to understand that and backoff so that appointments can be made.

So it's OK if it is an ideology you happen agree with? Or any senator should be able to link anything they want to appointments regardless of the reason, even if it has nothing to do with the actual appointment in question? Which is it?

You may have a point there. The Senator should probably be bringing this to the senate floor.

That is certainly what he should be doing, not blocking appointments.

I say he probably should because it's not like the Dems are pillars of proper procedure, either. This may be more "turnabout is fair play" than actual proper procedure. I'll have to look into democrats pulling similar stunts to know for sure.

NO ONE is "murdering." That is ILLEGAL. They are getting reimbursed for expenses to go where it is LEGAL. Duh.

That's kind of the nature of a republic system like the US uses.  It's not like a party system like we have. I've never been fond of the model at all and usually point this kind of nonsense out when people say we should be a republic but it is what it is.  Dems do similar things when the rolls are reversed.

And if we're being upfront it's just as fair to say that the other side is inflicting its ideology on others as well and THEIR refusal to set that aside and deal with it another way is what's holding this up.

We're just for a little common sense abortion control.

IF you don't like abortion, DON'T HAVE ONE.

Just don't FORCE your OPINION on ANYONE whose plight you DON'T UNDERSTAND.

Do they? I don't think Republicans are in the habit of doing it either. Normally these appointments go through unopposed by either party. I think Loons like Tuberville will be a big factor if the Democrats win in 24. It may play well to their base but is out of touch with a majority of Americans.

Allowing WOMEN to have the CHOICE is NOT "inflicting its ideology on others."

In FACT, freedom of CHOICE is the OPPOSITE of "inflicting."

It's "wrong" only because a senator is opposed to abortion. If abortion wasn't on the table you wouldn't give two f*cks about this story.

Abortion is murder, and I don't care how much you kick and scream in objection.

The SC has killed Roe, so we're on the right track. ;)

NOT illegal, NOT murder. Simple as that. But certainly NOT comprehensive.

Sorry you don't get to make YOUR OWN DEFINITIONS. ?

NOT illegal in the shitholes that are blue states, but certainly illegal in righteous states that are red. ;)

MURDER in the eyes of God, and that's enough to legislate what's RIGHT.

It is wrong because he is holding up important appointments for reasons that have nothing to do with those appointments. If a Dem held up military appointments because they wanted defund the police legislation or a national drug program you would think that is OK. I wouldn't.

Sorry, you don't get to DETERMINE ANYTHING about what's "in the eyes of god."

In FACT, it's EXTREMELY ARROGANT for you to pretend you do.

Oh for sure.  It's not really a 'dem' or 'republican' thing - it's more to do with how the system is set up there. If you want to keep getting elected and more importantly keep getting those donations you have to get noticed and be acknowledged separately from the party.  It breeds this kind of nonsense, and other nonsense that's similar.

Remember the mcarthy speaker of the house thing? :)  Matt Gaetz almost started a fist fight, It made the party look horrible but it'll play well in his home state and he'll have a good chance of re-election.

It's CRITICAL that you show off for the boys and girls at home under their system, far more than it is here.

These people do more harm than good when it comes to parties getting enough votes to form a majority. They will always be noisy outsiders.
