As Trudeau Snr once asked:

am angry with what you Americans are doing now in the world.

Only angry at what they are doing now? Seriously?

Based on history alone, and this is within a century, the US, isn't in a position to morally grand stand on Russia, regarding atrocities committed.

Trudeau is a populist authoritarian leader who seeks opportunity and attention wherever it presents itself.

Exactly.

Nothing better to deflect controversy at home, than to find a pleasant distraction where one can put their white savior complex to work in front of as many cameras as possible to drown out the deafening noise around his party in Canada.

The fact that Ukrainians look just like any Caucasian Canadian, mean the more money and camera shots he gets, the better for his ego and crumbling image.

As said, there's every reason to face totalitarian dictators in Ukraine and eventually, run them in the corner and place under a lock. They are not there only after Ukraine but the world order based on freedom, respect of sovereignty and international law itself. There's nothing unknown about the strategy of shutting the windows and waiting it out. The aggressors will grow stronger and more bold. They'll bend many others to their will until it's you who is isolated and insecure in your little corner you thought well protected. And then you fall.

I will be long dead before we get to that point.

Russia and China are opportunistic. Not crazy.

Well, Russia is crazy. China is incredibly patient and calculated.

They will never take a risk that hurts their interests.

The simple fact is that russia is a hostile nation to us. They have already been aggressive in their claims over our territory in the arctic and there's no reason to think they won't continue that aggression.

Therefore, anything that weakens and diminishes them is to our advantage. It really doesn't matter how this war turns out, Canada and it's allies will be better off and the threat of further russian conquest or aggression will be vastly diminished.  It already is.

In a perfect world after a long drawn out fight Ukraine will win back most of it's territory and russia will be left with it's military in a shambles, its economy weak, and it's leadership deeply divided and regretful of ever having engaged in this war.  And Ukraine will be rearmed and positioned as a threat on the russian border that they will always have to be wary of.

that would give us decades of reduced russian threat, which also reduces china's threat, and it's quite possible russia will never recover fully from it.

It will be the cheapest and most successful war we never fought.

It really doesnt' matter who's right or wrong or who started what.

"That which doesn't kill me...

Had better start running."

Only depending on how it turns out with Russia's adventure. China has eyes on Taiwan and South China Sea. Each and every inch that aggressors take encourages and invites them to take more. We've seen it play out some many times, nothing to prove here. A fact.

Russia has just blown up a major power dam and mined a nuclear power plant. With Hitler in a tight corner, can you take any bets on what they would and wouldn't do?

Nixon and Kissinger merely wanted a peaceful world.

Reagan admirably wanted to defeat the Soviets.

Some political advice from Trudeau Snr to Trudeau Jnr - like his mother:

Father: Create a counterweight.

Mother: Move against the current flow.

A lie, of course. A sore, stupid kind of excuse for something that can have no excuses. Hitler. Easy to check, but why bother?

When did the U.S. last invaded a neighbor without being attacked? When was the last time the U.S. occupied and annexed internationally recognized territory of other people? Easy. Simply liar.

1. "They are Russians (Germans)" in place of: international law

2. "Civil war" instead of: a brutal and unprovoked aggression

So far so good. Should we ask our respected member if Canada should leave NATO? Another of Huylo's favorite talking points because: NATO is the greatest fear and anathema for brutal aggressive dictators anywhere in this world. Because they know, see and feel what and how can kick their dirty arses.

Let's see. Three work like a charm.
