The idea that either Fetterman or Walker could possibly decide on issues affecting the rest of us?

In the rest of the world, sadly, it happens.

======

What you Americans don't appreciate is that you have a system so that people like Fetterman/Walker do good.

For 250 years - except the civil war - you Americans have maintained a peaceful place in he world.

Since 1750 or so, Europeans have had horrific wars.

The Chinese claim to have a civilisation for 5000 years - how many died in the last 100 years.

Pay special attention to the graph about 2/3 the way down the page.

The other party nearly always does well in mid-terms and inflation is higher than it has been for decades so Republican wins in this election are not hard to explain. In abortion, however, pragmatic Republicans, sadly a dwindling demographic, have put a new issue on the table that they will have to carry for decades.

America’s neighbours, especially the First Nations, might disagree with that assessment. For them it was always a dangerous nation, constantly expanding across the continent until it could go no farther.

It will not be. The reality of what Republicans have done has yet to fully sink in.

I see. So letting the states have their own laws on abortion doesn't suit you.

Guess you'll have to scrap the US Constitution then.

Good luck with that...

I'm a Canadian. I could not wish for a better neighbour.

I hope that Americans understand also that they could not hope for a better neighbour.

First nations? Gimme a break.

Life is not the past. It is a process.

I don't think that you Americans quite appreciate what you have accomplished.

Idiots like Fetterman or Walker can get elected to the Senate. You have an Alzeiheimer President Biden.

Yet, your American system still works.

People in China and Russia, they are perplexed.

Good questions.

In Canada, a woman is free to kill a child in her womb.

And in Canada, the State can put you in prison if you have an AK-47.

But in Canada, since 1962, we no longer have capital punishment.

Yet, our federal government (Stephen Harper) ordered some 110 people to die in Afghanistan.

Where do we draw the line?

Margaret Atwood said that the worst a man could fear of a woman is that she will laugh at him.

A woman fears that a man may kill her.

I think the line you're looking for has already been drawn.

Conservatism has taken a turn towards Nationalism. Pierre Polievre should be our next PM.
