Now, newspapers have online subscriptions - behind a paywall; Each newspaper appeals to a base of opinion.

(IME, except the FT and WSJ, people don't want to read contrary opinions.)

So, here's an idea: Offer me a $1 / month deal: 

Toronto Sun, G&M, Star, Post. Access to any of your stuff, figure out the money/clicks amongst your selves.

I used  to pay a dollar or more to buy a G&M each day in Quebec City - when the G&M relied on classified ads for revenue, it sent me a physical paper by plane to my local shop.

Nowadays, because the G&M is pay subscription, behind a paywall, it has become a silly leftist Toronto paper.

I reckon that I would pay about $20 per month if I could read anything in the Toronto Star, G&M, National Post, Toronto Sun.

They have to make money somehow. 

Google already force-feeds you news it knows you like based on your social media activity and Google searches. 

It's an up-hill battle for legacy media.

The problem with news organizations is they are increasingly populated by woke activists that believe they are on a crusade to save the planet.  So too often their product is biased woke propaganda.  People get addicted to this toxic corrupt product that at its worst is distorting reality.  I watch very little news from main stream sources, ditto with newspapers, and I grew up delivering papers.  I loved the news and trusted it completely.
