Bad Word Filters are Activated

Sorry did not save screen.

was able to pick up screen as tab was open.  You should have it now.

Agree with others: if you want to be effective, let your filter flag  word when it is typed.  The idea that a poster is going to spend ten minutes ever post to review and memorize some list of "bad words" is a bit naiive.

OK, if you see this happening again, or anyone else does, please post in the support section of the forums.

I have an update to made to the forum software, maybe it was a bug that will be fixed in this new version.

I'll also modify how the word filter works, which should stop the restriction of the posting.

This is the first I've heard of this issue...

Do you have a screenshot. Do you know what word was causing this issue?

This is actually the norm for me, too. I have to experiment at eliminating those or that word and keep trying to post to see if that was the word. Yesterday a word was highlighted, though, and I was actually surprised.

Edit: I guess maybe you made a change that worked. Thanks!

On the other hand, for the first time today, a word got *****  out in my post instead of blocking the posting and being highlighted as banned. That's new. To me anyway.

I can actually specific if the "bad word" is "blanked out" with **** or whether the word stops the post completely (and you're asked to edit) - depending on the word.

I still need to update all the words to be blanked out, rather than restricting the act of posting.

But again, I recognize the members can still make adjustments to the word, getting creative with symbols and characters - but that's life.
