1 CTV News, aside from being fake, don't even know how to use apostrophes:

Pakistani rights activists' death 'non-criminal', Toronto police say

It's either activists' deaths or activist's death. You'd think that they could get their spell-checks right in the title at least.

2) There's a huge pattern of these Pakistani activists (in Pakistan activists are referred to as "terrorists") being murdered, including members of her own family. She 'went missing' Sunday and her death has already been shuffled into the "we don't give a crap" category.

Can Pakistan's political dissidents just be murdered here and have their deaths shoved into the 'whatever' file? Are we doing the dirty work for Pakistan's evil, bigoted government?

To some extent, yes.  Remember how the bombing of the Air India flight was dealt with?   For years it seemed like the government couldn't be bothered to hold the terrorists to account, perhaps because it involved a conflict between two visible minority groups, Sikhs and the Indian government/people?   I'd like to think we've learned from these experiences.  I think it's fine not to get involved with foreign conflicts without damn good reasons, but terror attacks on Canadians are attacks on Canadians, no matter what the colour or ethnic origin of those Canadians.
