I have seen other famous people wear blackface before and not been upset by it. I wouldn't immediately throw someone under a bus for doing it as long as they weren't doing things that reinforce racial stereotypes or just mock black people. 

For me this is just about Trudeau's blatant hypocrisy. According to him anyone that did anything ten or twenty years ago has to bear that cross forever and they can never be forgiven and they're unfit for politics PERIOD!!!!!! Now that it's him it's suddenly time for forgiveness and understanding.

Forget it. I get that this is a personal growth moment for him but like David Akin said, the PM job wasn't created just for him to work through his personal issues. We need someone who is already mature enough to be a leader, not a little imbecile who thinks that his little heart of gold is all we need.

AFAIC there's little he's done since that's made him any worse in comparison to any other politician who cleaves towards the already rich and powerful.  As I've said many times since his election I really don't understand what it is that conservatives find so offensive about him.  Just not right-wing enough I guess.

One journalist pointed out, now....even the mocking jokes he's made to indigenous protesters of mercury-poisoning, from Grassy Narrows, has taken on a serious meaning! 

The underlying racism spontaneously bubbled out!

 

Of course, there was also the treatment of Jody Wilson- Raybould.

Look at all of that and how its been ignored. Imagine if a Conservative had done one or two of the things Trudeau has done. It is such a blatant double standard.

Trudeau even with his unethical behaviour and dressing up claims the high moral road. Why do we not hear in this debate any talk of Morneau insider trading,  Lavalin, Kadr, his trip with the Aga Kahn, the deficits. No one is talking about issues that go directly to his lack of credibility and double standards., Why? The NDP leader is running around making ridiculous promises of buying everything for everyone. Trudeau is being treated by the press very lightly. They are allowing him to avoid questions and control his agenda when speaking to them.

Betsy I wish Sheer was more dynamic and a better public speaker. As for Bernier, as much as I do not like him, he is a better speaker than Sheer. He does better at short sound bites and in this day and age I am afraid everyone is shallow and not listening more than 10 seconds to anything anyways. As for the throwing out the $15,000 exemption, if people are that easily bought out well? His handlers are Kathleen Wynne's people and you can remember how they dealt with their scandals. Unfortunately I think Justin will get a pass yet again Betsy.

Its his double standards Eye and the fact you call such an elitist a left winger means what? What makes Trudeau any different than a Canadian Tory? Their policies are identical except how to handle the deficit. Only Bernier is  different in the sense of truly detesting government and trying to sound Libertarian Ron Paul like. Trudeau is no more leftist than anyone else. He is no man of the people. His policies are all designed to protect his elitist connected buddies. Please do not refer to this man who is a flunky for Lavalin as a leftist. He's a toady and he engages in everything any supposed right winger does. In the grand scheme of things she's a very shallow t.v. personality but she was rail roaded out of jobs unfairly. In her case its who she has pissed off behind the scenes who put her on screen in the first place.
