So you're saying they are excluding them because they're heterosexuals....   not because they perceive the cops as doing harm to them as individuals or a group?

If I was a Toronto taxpayer, I would be very uneasy about providing substantial public funds in support of a group that is so overtly heterophobic , bigoted and  intolerant as the Gay pride organizers.

Well also consider that if Pride went against BLM's demands and allowed cops in the parade, there could be another BLM protest to disrupt the parade this year again, and there's not much chance that Toronto cops are going to touch BLM protestors for fear of being called racist oppressors.

So in the wake of the Bruce Mcarthur story, Pride has again asked that police don't participate in the Parade. 

They were too cowardly to officially deny the police's request, the just politely asked that they withdraw the request. Which the chief did today. 

If the Parade can dictate who participates in their parade for shouldn't really be receiving public funds.

It was signed jointly by Pride Toronto, the 519 community centre, Toronto People with AIDS Foundation, Sherbourne Health Centre, Alliance for South Asian AIDS Prevention and the Black Coalition for AIDS Prevention.

The deaths of Majeed Kayhan, Soroush Mahmudi, Dean Lisowick, Selim Esen, Andrew Kinsman, Skandaraj Navaratnam and an unidentified man — all allegedly victims of Bruce McArthur — as well as Tess Richey and Alloura Wells, are specifically referenced as catalysts of anger, shock and grief.

No one is well-served by the continual litany of wrongs done.  No one.  Is this what we are to hear again next year.......and the year following?  When will enough time have passed that the sins of previous police forces not be visited upon the current force.  What was once truly a celebration of inclusiveness, has now become a source of rancor and divisiveness.  Sad that.
