Stop locking threads for thread drift without warnings

Recommended Posts

This is just lazy. Michael Hardner, I've seen you do it twice in the last week. It boggles my mind that mods would rather see zero discussion happen at all rather than keeping a quality discussion that's evolved away from the OP.

When you guys lock a thread you always put "please start a new topic if you want to continue the discussion" (paraphrase), but how many times do you see posters bothering to take the extra trouble to re-post a topic or start a new thread on the "off-topic" discussion? Seldom. So essentially the mods are silencing debate on here.

The worst of it is that recently the threads have been locked with zero warning prior. The thread-drift micro-managing on here has become ridiculous, c'mon guys.

The invitation to continue the same topic (or any other topic) by creating a 2nd thread is always open.

This thread is locked.
