waldo Posted June 3, 2016 Report Posted June 3, 2016 Like I said earlier, what he said about sean compared to hunter. that's powerful! Being able to interpret being upset or being degrees of upset simply based on an absence of words, a void of expression, interpreted inflection, cadence, tone... all very powerful tools in your quiver! And, you're on a first name basis too. . Quote
cannuck Posted June 5, 2016 Report Posted June 5, 2016 why is your appetite not satisfied with the "addiction" reason? How would knowing the precise addiction make you any more satisfied... how would/why it be any more meaningful to you? . There IS an important issue there. Did our elected official ply out his addiction with legal substances such as alcohol or prescribed drugs or did he see fit to sustain his addiction by illegal means? Quote

And related, are you implying or privy to information to suggest the stated addiction is workplace related? . Quote

This is an elected official and if he has been involved in criminal acts that is all I need to know (and as taxpayers, we NEED to know that). Quote

This is an elected official and if he has been involved in criminal acts that is all I need to know (and as taxpayers, we NEED to know that). it's important to read you dismiss any significance as to whether the stated addiction might have workplace attachment... or whether or not there are covering policy directives in regards to Members of Parliament. Earlier in the thread, we heard from a few stalwarts of teamGossip&Rumour throwing out unsubstantiated comments like, "it can't be alcohol or they would have said so... must be drugs"; "an assumed assault; physical not sexual"; "a family history of alcohol and a noted pisstank in territorial government"; "there was some unusual grab-ass and hanky-panky"; "no violent (assault), but more along the lines of marriages ending"; "rumor? Sure, but then smoke=fire"; "it may be his drinking got out of control"; "Trudeau being so upset, tells me a women was involved"... your implication is criminal act(s) are being covered up. Good luck with your pursuit to confirm/verify! . Quote
cannuck Posted June 5, 2016 Report Posted June 5, 2016 your implication is criminal act(s) are being covered up. Good luck with your pursuit to confirm/verify! I did not imply anything. Put the spin machine in park. I simply stated we had the right to know if his addiction was to legal or illegal substances. Is the PMO coveraing up a criminal act? I did not say they were, but if his addiction is to illegal substances, then they are. For all we know at this point, he might just have been sleeping with Sophie. . Quote
Big Guy Posted June 5, 2016 Report Posted June 5, 2016 (edited) I too will speculate: I know that any elected members looked at for the Cabinet are vetted. I also know that they swear to and sign a affidavit that all they have answered is the truth. I do not know the exact wording, but I would assume that it is outlined what would happen to any elected official who "lied" during the vetting process. In this case, one might assume that the penalty is out of Cabinet and out of caucus. Cabinet members have access to information that no one else has. I know that if I was PM then those would be my conditions to offer a Cabinet post. I would assume JT and other PM's have/had something similar.
