I saw a woman cry yesterday at work. Is this common?

I saw a lot of women crying at the office when I worked for the government. Most of the women I knew there cried at one point or another in front of me. I suppose its sexist to say women tend to get more emotional than men?

Coming from Snoop, that's a tremendous compliment! Completely different from calling for separate-- but equal, no doubt-- labs for female scientists. What's next? Separate-- but equal-- water-fountains for black people?

There's nothing I can find which says he actually made any suggestion of changes in the current staffing of labs. From what he has said since he made the comment as a sort of light-hearted and ironic comment. And the guy is a nobel laureate, which puts him about several thousand shades more useful to the universe than an arrogant scumbwad rapper.

I think every single woman I've ever known has been more visibly emotional than every single man I've ever known.

Again: in your example, someone would literally have had to cry for his point to be validated. Your initial point was, and remains, completely lazy and off the mark.

Do we need to take up a collection so you can buy a dictionary?

I'd say men are socially conditioned to keep their emotional reactions hidden or given a more limited range of ways to express emotions (pretty much just anger). In other words: it depends on the circumstances, the emotion in question and, of course, what we mean by "emotional" anyway.

I read in a National Geographic that it's part of a women, "estrogen package deal" to help with the difficulty of caring for a new born.

More emotional would equate loving her child faster. And that would help with the chances of survival of the baby.

So when a man gets mad and yells at an underling or colleague, that's not considered "getting emotional?"

Ok, I'm having trouble recognizing the appropriate outrage.

Are we supposed to buy in that women don't cry at work? Are we saying "yes" women cry but it's a man's fault? Are we trying to talk ourselves into believing that women do cry, but men are worse?

What is the socially engineered angle we're striving for?

So you don't actually know what we're talking about? Cool.

The socially engineered angle we're striving for is universal agreement on the point that any white male that makes any statement that does not meet all the latest (changing every day) requirements for "sensitivity" to "minority" (hah) groups like women should be summarily fired from their jobs and ostracized from society.

Or, you know, people in charge of labs shouldn't be making ridiculous sexist remarks about their employees.

I rather enjoy men actually and enjoy being in their company.
