On Guard for Thee Posted June 11, 2015 Report Posted June 11, 2015 OGFT is obviously the desperate one, the trial is not going to result in Harpers resignation and will have very little impact on the election this fall. Spending $23M to track $1M is commensurate with much in governemt operations. Return-on-investment calculations are rarely part of any business analysis in the public sector. Except for one critical body- Canada Revenue Agency. They tend to invest their time and money where there will be a positive cash flow. Never suggested it would result in his resignation. Maybe you have fallen into what Boges refers to as ass u ming or whatever his cutesy term is. The electorate will take care of that, and lets just wait and see what impact the trial will have. Still have to hear from Wright, and of course Harper's hand picked bag man, Duffy himself. Quote
PIK Posted June 11, 2015 Report Posted June 11, 2015 And wright will have nothing to say that will affect the government. And duffy ,well everybody like and respected him until he got to the senate and went nuts. And that to will have little effect. If they said nothing except we updated the rules......those who haven't jumped ship for directorship kickbacks would be out on their ass by the easily impressed/enraged electorate. There is a much larger return (to MPs)......cost to them $0....benefit to them $100k plus pension qualification. Seems an obvious deal to me. Edited June 12, 2015 by Bob Macadoo Quote
Boges Posted June 19, 2015 Report Posted June 19, 2015 Are we taking bets to see if Wright throws Harper under the bus? Quote
Topaz Posted June 19, 2015 Report Posted June 19, 2015 I don't think Harper will NOT call a snap election while the trial is going on because once he's NOT the PM, he can be called to testify and HE doesn't want to testify Quote
