Big Guy Posted October 9, 2015 Author Report Posted October 9, 2015 With Russia changing the whole demographic, Assad's Syrian forces with assistance from Putin, are beginning to change the direction of the war: http://www.aljazeera.com/news/2015/10/assad-forces-stage-vast-offensive-western-syria-151008152227338.html It looks like the Russia, Iran, Iraq and Syria coalition is making inroads against Syrian rebels and ISIS. Putin claims that Russian forces are only targeting "terrorists". I guess when the term "terrorist" has been used so often to describe anybody as an excuse to kill him that it is inevitable that the Russians will define their own terrorists. It looks like there are folks caught in the middle who are either terrorists or heroes depends which way their guns are facing. What in hell is Canada doing there? Big Guy Posted October 12, 2015 Author Report Posted October 12, 2015 The USA had admitted that it had spent $millions on Syrian rebels (these are the guys who are against Assad) and ended up preping 5 guys. The new approach seems to be to deliver arm to whatever guys look like they are rebels; http://www.cnn.com/2015/10/12/politics/syria-rebel-groups-ammunition-50-tons/index.html U.S. has just delivered 50 tons of ammunition to Syria rebel groups. The American fighter planes have been told to keep at least 20 miles away from Russian planes and to back off if confronted. So we have Russians dropping bombs on rebels while the Americans are dropping military equipment on the rebels but trying to keep out of each others way. What the Hell are we doing there? So I can see Americans fly by and drop military hardware, the Russians next fly by and drop bombs on that military hardware then the Americans fly by and drop some more military hardware and the Russians then ... Not sure what Canadian, French, Turkish, Iranian, Iraqi and other coalition and anti-coalition airplanes are doing while this fiasco is going on. Hey, are WE not supposed to be the good guys who broker peace between nations?
