Police are trained to de-escalate whenever possible.

Sure, but BC2004 was commenting on the use of deadly force.......you implied his description was wrong.....how is it wrong?

Posted

His couched implication is that deadly force was required in this case. Totally unproven. But he likes to troll as we all understand.

He stated, and you quoted:

Nope...not after the threshold for deadly force has been reached. Then it is as many shots as possible until the threat is removed and/or the perp is down. This is how law enforcement is trained.

Clearly referencing the use of deadly force in the above passage.......your reply:

A bit of a "loosey goosey" description of the training. But more importantly in this case, there are a lot of question marks about this "threshold" you speak of having been reached.

So how is the members description of deadly force "loosey goosey"?

Because it's meant to imply it was required in this case. We all know that you have the right to defend yourself, cop or not.

How is BC2004 description of deadly force, a response to another members questioning the number of shots fired by the officer, an implication that the use of deadly force was justified?

To clarify though, you agree that his description of deadly force is correct, but on the stipulation that it was not necessarily justified in this case……..of course, if it is determined to be justified, the number of shots fired by the officer, doesn’t speak to its justification.

The number of shots may well speak to it. Did it take 11 rounds to stop a man who was charging? More importantly, the pause between the volleys. Indicates Wilson had a good chance to think as opposed to simply reacting.

How? Did 11 rounds hit Brown? How long was the pause?

Posted

As we all know, the only autopsy report so far released show at least 6 rounds hit him. That's old news.

So if 6 shots hit Brown, what does it mater if another 5 shots were fired sometime during the shooting? Do we know which order the 6 of 11 shots hit Brown?

The pause is 5 seconds or so.

Again verification is still pending. So don't waste a lot of time going 'round in circles with that.

Do you have a source for the 5 seconds? And assuming it was that long, there could be various reasons for such a pause.....ie adjusting fire, a FTF etc

The source for the 5 seconds in my ears listening to the audio. Obviously we'll likely never know in what order the shots struck him. Why would he have to adjust fire if the guy was charging him as Y'all seem to have subscribed to.

The dude doing the recording sounds like the "silence of the lambs" dude.

Then why did I spend all that time at Blackwater in Moyoc?

I doubt that you did.......none the less, you clearly have no understanding of sight alignment, sight picture or trigger control when applied to a moving target.

Doubt all you want. I quite understand parallax. The beds aren't all that comfortable at the Blackbear Inn, but the food is great at the cafeteria. Do you wanna know what there themesong is?
