I have been looking for some good ones, thought this would be in, but then I read the post by the owner saying he will no longer be maintaining the forum... three years ago. So I'm guessing there must be other popular forums out there that are more active?

Nope. There are small ones with far less activity, but the only high volume Canadian political web site I'm aware of is rabble, where only friendly political views are accepted.

Oh, I just remebered that when I signed up today I noticed that the forum software automatically retrieved the latest tweet from the twitter account I used to register, which may look like an ad - if you looked closer though you would see that tweet was from a couple of years ago :D Anyway, thats the only reason I could think of for you believing I was looking for forums to advertise on....

The only other place I know about is rabble.ca, but that place was designed to push the socialist agenda on hard-working Canadians and corrupt the morals and values that built this great nation of ours.

I hear some of the old-timers here hang out in a coffee shop somewhere, but that's just a rumour.

Yeah, I was banned for being too right wing, based on a criticism of a Layton move.

I can't think of anything duller than being on a forum where everyone agrees with you.

Yeah, I was banned for being too right wing, based on a criticism of a Layton move.

I was banned from that site on a few occasions. One, I posted as "LoveBillyGoat." I thought they'd like my post where I said that gay marriage proposals didn't go far enough. I proposed allowing marriage between any four mammals as long as one was a human over the age of 14 (then Canada's age of consent). I suggested that Defense Minister Graham marry a 13 year old boy, a 12 year old and a musk oxen and conduct the ceremony on Hans Island, to confirm Canada's claim over that of Greenland/Demnark. I was banned within minutes, before I could even correct a typo.

Another ban was when I registered under the name Bo Bo Bama, a play on Obama's dog's name Bo Bo.

I think I have been toasted 3 or maybe 4 times at Rabble.

They have a couple of moderators there that do not tolerate anything except the Party line. Dissent and discussion are verboten.

The kind of people who are regulars on rabble are outraged whenever people disagree with them. They like a nice, congenial atmosphere where no one offers up challenges to their ideas or frightens them with new ideas.

They used to be outraged, now any post and/or poster that strays at all from the NDP hardline just gets smoked by a moderator before anybody has a chance to sneer at the weirdo with a differing opinion.

So basically... you post moronic drivel under multiple pseudonyms and youre confused why you were banned?

I question things because I am human. And call no one my father who's no closer than a stranger

How is that moronic drivel? Are you calling Swift's Gulliver's Travels drivel? Voltaire's Candide?

I don't participate in any other 'Canadian' based forums. This is the only one. Rabble sounds like a cesspool of intolerant insanity. I do participate in another forum based out of New Zealand.

While not Canadian they do have Canadian sections.

A couple of big active forums

Democratic Underground or its sibling Discussionist. leftwing orientated

Another good one if you dont piss off the mods is City-Data.com, rightwing orientated.

Theres other Canadian forums like =Canadiancontent but they seem to be populated by a small group that delights in attacking noobs.
