Big Guy Posted June 12, 2014 Report Posted June 12, 2014 (edited) I hear those hogs roaring as I create this post. About 50,000 bikes are expected for the Friday 13th "happening" in Port Dover Ontario. Last year for the event at about the same time of year, we estimated about 120,000 people in that sleepy fishing town of Port Dover. Come one, come all - with or without your bike. Lots of noise, lots of food, lots of drink, lots of talk and lots of fun. See all those rich old guys with a beard and belly playing Marlon Brando! So do you get them impression that this forum is populated with many bikers from Southwestern Ontario? Driving on Ontario highways will be interesting with all the bikers making their trek, for sure. Driving on Ontario highways will be interesting with all the bikers making their trek, for sure. This is the 51st Friday 13th in Dover. People from all over North America converge here for the event. Many arrive on Thursday and leave on Sunday. They stay in motels, on the beach (nightly bonfires) , in rented farmers barns, camp grounds created by the local service clubs or local private accommodation. You are quite correct with the highways but most tend to stay on the smaller highways like Highway's 3, 24 and 6. Some also take a very scenic and winding lakeshore road entry.
