WWWTT
Some news need no links. Charles and Camilla coming for one. We all know about it so dont be silly. And for the biggest whiner about this, providing links to nutter sites (aka wheres the plane? On an island in the ocean)is worse than no link. I think this is a shot at me. I agree that some news doesn't need a link. However, I have never stated a request for a link to a general news story! When specific names, numbers, dates, and other meticulous details are being used as part of the debate, you damn straight I will request a supporting link! As well, I have provided many links to a wide variety type of sites. If you label some sites as a "nutter" site, all you are saying is that you have a closed mind. Just because I check out a bunch of different sites doesn't mean I believe every claim that is made out there. WWWTT Quote Maple Leaf Web is now worth $720.00! Down over $1,500 in less than one year! WWWTT
So having the capacity to critically evaluate the validity of sources is "closed mindedness" in your opinion? Not at all, I even have stated in the same comment that I myself still do this. I had clearly written that it is the act of "labelling" that is not a good thing. WWWTT
So evaluating the sources is fine as long as you don't draw a conclusion from it? Draw any conclusion that you like. But let me ask you something, is this still about the one single and only link that I provided almost two months ago???? You and Guyser 2 are still going on about a comment that MH made about a single link I provided???? Meanwhile MH provided a link about a UFO! Man that's feeble and petty! Go ahead and put all the labels on whatever you want, as far as I'm concerned, the biggest labelers are racists! Enjoy the company! WWWTT Quote Maple Leaf Web is now worth $720.00! cybercoma
I'm commenting on your responses in this thread. I don't even know what the links are or what the original discussion is about. Your argument just doesn't make sense to me, so I'm asking questions of clarification. Bob Macadoo
If this ever happened, which I doubt, it would be because the thread wasn't reported. You doubt the existence of these posters or their posts......I'm sure the OP poster can provide the required links.

What the hell are you talking about? This thread is an outshoot of the moderator one.......going to be a bunch of rhetoric and flaming by old hands, turning off us newbs to this whole site. I appreciate Big Guy's topic selection without the bias taint right off the get go. If you want links to your "nutter" sites or limbaugh.com......look elsewhere and let the discussion proceed. WWWTT
Evaluating sources is akin to racism now? What the hell are you talking about? Man you really have a lot of belief in yourself! You just can't bring yourself to write the word "label" can you? Do you think that if you don't write the word "label" then that word does not exist? If you sincerely feel that my comment is worth reporting, then do so and ignore. Because I'm just going to ignore you if you wish to further this. WWWTT Quote Maple Leaf Web is now worth $720.00! I think this is a good thread because it helps us discuss how we can/should debate on this site. Just give it a chance. WWWTT You are happy because he has to conform to your standards and not necessarily the Mapleleafweb forum. Grey areas exist when it comes to starting threads and what to provide, at least in my opinion (although I am not an old hand here). I would like to see more personal opinions from Big Guy when it comes to his threads and what he personally feels about it. I don't particularly like someone throwing out a topic and not providing their own personal thoughts. It sort of feels like a lecturer throwing out topics to discuss and we are the students. I don't have a problem with no links being provided since his topics are usually of the mainstream media topics, so for those who want links, get over it! There is an awful lot of whining going on from the 'old hands' and I tend to stay away for days at a time because I get tired of it. I like to contribute to threads and provide my input but if I and others are subjected to sniping and other putdowns, it's really not worth our while to participate. cybercoma
Pressing to have links on every single post is annoying. Just discuss the issue. If you would like more details and supporting evidence, ask for a link. The thing is, you asked for a link, he provided it, then you completely ignored the topic. So, even if you are interested in the link and the topic, it certainly doesn't appear that way. Unlike your threads........here's a link....Obama's stunk it up again.......rhetoric engaged. If you don't like his threads, go somewhere else. That's complete nonsense. It's proper posting procedure when beginning a topic to provide a proper link. If you don't like that, then post in a different forum. One where you have to read somebody's opinion, and then to a seperate google search to look up a source that they may or may not be referencing. And if Obama happens to stink it up, he's to be held accountable, just like every other president. And I do. Complete with links and references to reputable sources.
