WestCoastRunner
Breaking up the health, sciences and technology into 2 different categories makes sense to me. Health, and then 'science and technology' could be separate. This category seems too much like a catch all bucket. Quote I love to see a young girl go out and grab the world by the lapels. bush_cheney2004
I think there should be sub-forums for all the alternate and sometimes illegal behaviours strongly advocated for in other threads. Things like legal and illegal substance consumption / trafficking, human sexuality / prostitution, gender bending, gambling, pornography, polygamy, etc. Oh, and maybe a forum for coin and stamp collecting too ! Argus
Seems to me that you don't know much about public education, Argus. Well, then, I guess you and I have that much in common. cybercoma
Municipal politics should be rolled into the provincial forum. US Politics, Other Parts of the World, and Canada US relations could all be rolled into a single Foreign Politics forum. The three "moral, religious, and political philosophy" forums could be merged. Health and business typically come up in the provincial or federal politics forums. I'm not sure there's an purpose to them outside those places. If you look at the top ten threads in there, they all clearly have a place in one of the other forums. Art and culture should simply be Arts and Entertainment to include music, video game, telecomm, tv show, and movie discussions. In other words, combine travel and leisure, media and broadcasting into it. Then there should be the addition of a general off-topic forum for any other discussions. The science and technology forum could remain to specifically discuss scientific findings that do not fit under any other forums. Any of the topics that have to do with regulations and government policies, should fall under the appropriate 'federal politics', 'provincial & local politics' or 'international politics' forums. The focus should be to keep policy discussions and politics in the politics forums first. If it could go either way, err on the side of the politics forums. The list of forums would look like this Political Discussion Federal Politics Provincial/Local Politics International Politics Topical DiscussionsPhilosophy, Morality and Religion Science and Technology Arts, Entertainment and Sports SupportForum Support and Questions News and Announcements In addition to these, obviously you should have a forum visible to moderators only, so they can discuss forum issues. I think streamlining the forum would be better. It would make it easier to browse and would encourage more activity within the each sub-forum. I would recommend a general off-topic forum, but Greg has stated in the past that it won't happen.
