DogOnPorch Posted February 21, 2014 Report Posted February 21, 2014 (edited) Try and make that nonsense hold up in any real court of law! Define 'real court of law' in a war zone. Why, there's a young 'Omar' being brainwashed...a double entendre. Edited February 21, 2014 by DogOnPorch Quote Nothing cracks a turtle like Leon Uris.

Army Guy Posted February 21, 2014 Report Posted February 21, 2014 I don't think Dadhr was ever anything other than a Canadian citizen. And he was also a minor, apparently heavily influenced by the adults around him. He was held for years in Gitmo without a charge being laid, and then when they were, it seems the process may have been just as dubious. As to the drone strikes, I think the legal people call that "extrajudicial execution". I wouldn't want that on my hands. I know there are a bunch of bad guys out there and I am certainly not siding with them, but putting a hellfire into a wedding party to take out one of them doesn't seem the best way to me. Yes , the US should of separated young mr Khadr from the main stream prisoners, he should have been charged way earlier than he was, on the other hand maybe they should have been just declared combatants and held as POW's until the conflict ended.... A drone strike is just another wpn sys, only this one is fired by a UAV, and puts no soldiers lifes in danger to use it....if it is shot down it does not have the same effect as dragging a dead soldiers body down the street.....thats why it's so popular....Once you are declared a hostile, be it legal or illigal combatant any Coalition soldier is free to engage, at any time any where .... the convention does not say NO civilian cas, it says to limit them.... hence the word colateral damage sound cold..War is cold.......war is controled by mr murphy and his law, what can go wrong will go wrong....war is about death and destruction, to inflict as much upon your enemy as possiable so that he sues for peace.....war is guided by some laws, the rest is guided by the men and women thrown together in a life and death struggle..... So a wedding party what is the differece between that or a birthday party, a trip to the market, getting off school...Why are we surprised at that....maybe everyone should spend a couple of days in a war zone, smell the smells, taste the smells, see the death, touch the destruction , hear the screams...........we all should be forced to study war and it's effects....maybe we would think twice on doing it..... I think the legal people call that "extrajudicial execution, Soldiers call another day at the office....and if your going to invite a bad guy to your wedding make sure it's in a bunker.... Quote We, the willing, led by the unknowing, are doing the impossible for the ungrateful. We have now done so much for so long with so little, we are now capable of doing anything with nothing.

I don't seem to recall the US declaring war on Pakistan but I know a lot of those hellfires were sent that way. And as someone else pointed out on here, if you want to create some new terrorists, taking out the wedding party will do it. Quote

It is the policy of the United States to find the terrorists wherever they are...and kill them. No trial....no hearings....no phone call to Mom. Any questions ? Get her to explain another US policy known as "the rule of law" Perhaps you have heard of it but you understand it the same way an NRA member "understands" the 2nd amendment. Quote

The "rule of law" doesn't seem to impress the terrorists very much either. I called mom, she says to shoot 'em with the missiles...twice. Quote Economics trumps Virtue.

I called mom, she says to shoot 'em with the missiles...twice. Well it doesn't seem to impress you, or your mom either. So why do American's keep blathering on about it so much (as if they invented it) if they don't really support it? Quote
