Topaz Posted January 9, 2014 Report Posted January 9, 2014 (edited) Apparently, Strahl is a registered lobbyist for Enridge, my question is how can that be, when the rules are that one can't be a lobbyist for 5 years after leaving government, am I right or wrong on this??? http://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/sirc-chair-s-pipeline-lobbying-seen-as-symptom-of-larger-problem-1.2489655 Edited January 9, 2014 by Charles Anthony fixed link Quote

Moonlight Graham Posted January 9, 2014 Report Posted January 9, 2014 Apparently, Strahl is a registered lobbyist for Enridge, my question is how can that be, when the rules are that one can't be a lobbyist for 5 years after leaving government I'm not sure, but that's an excellent kind of law to have, fundamental to a healthy democracy. Topaz Posted January 15, 2014 Author Report Posted January 15, 2014 Well, now the opposition parties are asking for investigation into a "conflict of interest" on Strahl's part of being a lobbyists, so we'll see what Dawson has to say if he is not or. http://www.vancouverobserver.com/news/harper-government-pressed-investigate-chuck-strahl Quote
bud Posted January 25, 2014 Report Posted January 25, 2014 but only after they are caught. the list of scandals and corruption continues to grow for the conservatives. the latest is chuck strahl's resignation. Opposition MPs have criticized the former Conservative cabinet minister since learning earlier this month he registered to lobby on behalf of Northern Gateway Pipelines. The New Democrats said it should be common sense that Strahl — someone on the federal payroll — should not lobby for a pipeline seeking federal government approval. link Quote http://whoprofits.org/
Keepitsimple Posted January 25, 2014 Report Posted January 25, 2014 (edited) Another tempest in a teapot - care of the opposition and the pliant Media Party.......Justin Trudeau checks with Mary Dawson on the "ethics" of his speaking engagements and everything is just fine.....but Strahl does the same, gets clearance......and its a scandal and corrupt? More bias from the Media Party. In his letter, Strahl said he had carefully ensured that the Privy Council Office and the office of ethics commissioner Mary Dawson were always aware of his activities, both as a volunteer in various organizations and in private business."Throughout the term of my appointment, I have checked with these experts and have appreciated and followed their advice to me," Strahl's said.Without exception, they indicated at all times that "I have been fully compliant with all relevant rules and regulations, and have affirmed that all of my post-political activities were consistently appropriate and above board," he wrote."Any recent criticism in this regard is entirely spurious and unfounded." More bias from the Media Party. Are you saying Trudeau also sold his influence to help tilt the economic playing field towards the rich? That clinches it, there's no way that corrupt SOB's party is getting my vote either. Quote I said now watch what you say they'll be calling you a radical, a liberal, oh fanatical criminal
