Spiderfish Posted April 1, 2014 Report Posted April 1, 2014 Yet another of his hand picked top aides gets thrown under the bus today. We are starting to get a little back logged with scandals. I don't think Justin dropping an F bomb in a boxing ring really has the staying power the likes of which Harper and co. are providing. Soudas was using his position to influence a nomination race. If nothing had been done Harper would have been accused of promoting corruption. Quote
Big Guy Posted April 1, 2014 Report Posted April 1, 2014 ... . I don't think Justin dropping an F bomb in a boxing ring really has the staying power the likes of which Harper and co. are providing. When did "fuddle duddle" become an f-bomb? Quote Note - For those expecting a response from Big Guy: I generally do not read or respond to posts longer then 300 words nor to parsed comments.
On Guard for Thee Posted April 1, 2014 Report Posted April 1, 2014 Soudas was using his position to influence a nomination race. If nothing had been done Harper would have been accused of promoting corruption. It seems a lot of the people Harper likes to have around him end up being involved in corruption. Quote
On Guard for Thee Posted April 1, 2014 Report Posted April 1, 2014 When did "fuddle duddle" become an f-bomb? Any bets on whether Harper said fuddle duddle at least once today. I bet you find it not far away in the same sentence as can be found the word Soudas. Quote
Spiderfish Posted April 1, 2014 Report Posted April 1, 2014 Any bets on whether Harper said fuddle duddle at least once today. I'd wager he didn't say it (nor would he) in the middle of a public address. Quote
On Guard for Thee Posted April 1, 2014 Report Posted April 1, 2014 I'd wager he didn't say it (nor would he) in the middle of a public address. Don't worry. All forgotten by tomorrow or next day. Too much scandal around Harper once again. Quote
Spiderfish Posted April 1, 2014 Report Posted April 1, 2014 Don't worry. All forgotten by tomorrow or next day. Too much scandal around Harper once again. Scandal?? Around Soudas? It took me 5 minutes of searching just to find the story. JT's remarks...front page stuff. I'm wondering what your take would be if it had been Harper that made the remarks instead of Trudeau. Quote

On Guard for Thee Posted April 1, 2014 Report Posted April 1, 2014 Are you talking about the so called F bomb? Quote
Spiderfish Posted April 1, 2014 Report Posted April 1, 2014 Are you talking about the so called F bomb? Correct. What would your take be if Harper let it fly during a public address? Quote
On Guard for Thee Posted April 1, 2014 Report Posted April 1, 2014 Correct. What would your take be if Harper let it fly during a public address? Either case I couldn't care less. Quote
On Guard for Thee Posted April 1, 2014 Report Posted April 1, 2014 I can't decide if that remark is funny or sad. Last I checked, I had a vagina and 'brains'. I believe that I will vote using my brains, but thanks for pointing out that I do have the option to vote with either one. And maybe we better be careful. CA may suspend both of us for using the 'V' word! Most of his remarks are just plain stupid. The latest is just an underscore of that. What kind of dolt makes such a statement? Quote
bleeding heart Posted April 1, 2014 Report Posted April 1, 2014 Well, PIK transitioned quite smoothly from "Canadians are so stupid that they will vote for him" into his remark about the "chicks" voting "with their vaginas"....so I think the fundamental message is pretty clear. Evidently, it's only (and fully) half of "Canadians" who are "stupid" enough to vote for Trudeau. Quote “There is a limit to how much we can constantly say no to the political masters in Washington. All we had was Afghanistan to wave. On every other file we were offside. Eventually we came onside on Haiti, so we got another arrow in our quiver." --Bill Graham, Former Canadian Foreign Minister, 2007
cybercoma Posted April 1, 2014 Report Posted April 1, 2014 Correct. What would your take be if Harper let it fly during a public address? "A public address." LOL I don't even like Trudeau, but I like even less the way you're trying to whitewash the context. Quote
Spiderfish Posted April 1, 2014 Report Posted April 1, 2014 "A public address." LOL I don't even like Trudeau, but I like even less the way you're trying to whitewash the context. Whitewash the context? What would you call it? A speech? An introduction? A comment? A little off-the-cuff boxin' banter? Whatever you want to call it, you wouldn't hear it come out of Harpers mouth in public. Perhaps in all of your disappointment over the choice of words, you missed the point I was trying to make. eyeball Posted April 1, 2014 Report Posted April 1, 2014 You hear it coming out of Doug Ford all the time and look how long he's remained in the good graces of the very same base that subscribes to Harper. I thought conservatives appreciate the sort of say-what-they-mean politicians who don't cringe from foul language in public now and then. Take Ralph Klein for example. guyser Posted April 1, 2014 Report Posted April 1, 2014 (edited) If, or when , PM Trudeau reigns, I doubt he too will say the F word in public just like Harper hasnt said it in public. Much like Harper doesnt talk about building a wall around Alberta and taking healthcare private since he has become PM. Or belittling the country as some backward place he inst proud of. Except that this sort of behaviour ultimately enhances the character of the Ford's and Klein's of the world, especially in the eyes of the sorts of people who get all pissy about the Trudeau's. It doesn't really matter, it's just kinda funny in a pathetic little way. Quote A government without public oversight is like a nuclear plant without lead shielding.

His response was interesting when asked about the incident; "If you had seen the scolding that Sophie gave me, you would have wished you'd used a different adjective as well," he said following a speech to the Ajax-Pickering Board of Trade. PIK Posted April 2, 2014 Author Report Posted April 2, 2014 Most of his remarks are just plain stupid. The latest is just an underscore of that. What kind of dolt makes such a statemen The truth hurts, does'nt it. If a ugly justin smith held a “ladies” night fundraiser called justin unplugged @ $250 a pop, how many women would have showed up, probably none. It just showed how shallow some people have become, same thing with SR ,the women did not care what he did ,they were voting for him no matter what. And their is alot of women out there that are embarressed by the way these other women swoon over this guy.Gives them all a bad name. Argus Posted April 2, 2014 Report Posted April 2, 2014 Most of his remarks are just plain stupid. The latest is just an underscore of that. What kind of dolt makes such a statement? A dolt who intends to get elected with style over substance. I don't think this was off the cuff. I think it was planned to enhance his image among certain voters. Sure it will tick off those who think the word has no place in public discourse, but most of them probably wouldn't vote for him anyway. Younger voters probably won't care, and many, especially women, will think it make him seem stronger and edgier.
