Guest Derek L Posted January 7, 2014 Report Posted January 7, 2014 It's too bad that Derek and cheney don't speak Mandarin, because they would love to watch CCTV go on about the Japanese and US military actions in the area. Not like the US media that want to forget about this incident! WWWTT What’s to further explore? The Chinese have proven themselves a “paper tiger” by their own inaction when faced with counter aggression by first world nations……..Aside from the Communist Chinese Government whinging about the Japanese Prime Minister visiting a Japanese war grave, I fail to see what they have to crow about. As such, they’ve turned their bullying attitude towards the hapless Filipinos by withdrawing from the United Nations territorial arbitration process (a first for any state) and are sending their obsolete former Soviet carrier to the disputed Spratly Islands to attempt to leverage the Philippine government. TimG Posted January 7, 2014 Report Posted January 7, 2014 (edited) The government gets to control what information its people see, and filter out anything they find undesirable. How long before the US and Canada follow suit?I hope never. Free of speech is constitutionally protected in Canada and the US. I can't imagine a SCC that would allow blanket censorship as 'justifiable in a free and democratic society'. Any moral high ground people may have wanted to claim on behalf of the US has evaporated now that the nature and scope of (a part of) its surveillance operations have been disclosed for the world to see.Collecting information is one thing. Denying free speech is another. The government can collect information and still have the moral high ground as long as free speech is protected. This would never happen in the US: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liu_Xiaobo Liu Xiaobo (Chinese: 刘晓波) (born 28 December 1955)[1] is a Chinese literary critic, writer, professor, and human rights activist who called for political reforms and the end of communist single-party rule.[2] He is currently incarcerated as a political prisoner in Jinzhou, Liaoning. bush_cheney2004 Posted January 8, 2014 Report Posted January 8, 2014 What examples are you thinking about? See "Imperial Japanese Army" and "Sino-Japanese Wars". Quote Economics trumps Virtue.
DogOnPorch Posted January 8, 2014 Report Posted January 8, 2014 See "Imperial Japanese Army" and "Sino-Japanese Wars". Also, Canadians 'enjoyed' something like a 100-1 kill ratio at Kap-Yong...I'm sure the Americans did likewise. Quote Nothing cracks a turtle like Leon Uris.
Guest Derek L Posted January 8, 2014 Report Posted January 8, 2014 You are aware that Chairman Mao's son died in the Korean conflict? I don't recall China losing in Korea? They sure as hell didn't win..... Or how about that other country they supported Vietnam? What about Vietnam? I know the Chinese got their butts handed to them by Vietnam when they invaded in '79. I think you're missing a zero or maybe two.......At Imjin River, UN forces devastated a Chicomm Army Group, with over 14k Chinese killed and wounded for less then 300 killed and wounded……..My father rather enjoyed Chinese train-busting, but after destroying a troop or munitions train you’d be hungry for another in less then an hour........ Guest Derek L Posted January 8, 2014 Report Posted January 8, 2014 And some news from the other, freedom loving, China: http://www.defensenews.com/article/20140106/DEFREG03/301060013/Taiwan-s-Sub-launched-Harpoons-Pose-New-Challenge-China-s-Invasion-Plans TAIPEI — Taiwan’s Ministry of National Defense has acknowledged the Navy took delivery last year of long-awaited submarine-launched Harpoon Block II anti-ship cruise missiles, a new complication to any Chinese invasion plans. Well certainly a smallish threat to the Chinese Communists, it is one that their navy will now have to further train against……diplomatically another response to Chicom aggression……… Quote

Ya actually my wife is from GuanXi province, Nanning. About a two hour drive from north Vietnam and her story is different from yours! And since you didn't provide any links, then I take it you don't have anything to back up your opinion! But hey, you can always post a picture of an uzi or some other type of weapon to try and prove your point. WWWTT Quote Maple Leaf Web is now worth $720.00! Down over $1,500 in less than one year!
