Boges Posted September 3, 2013 Report Posted September 3, 2013 From what I've heard they used Canada as a bargaining tool in their negotiations with Vodophone. They never seriously considered going to Canada. The fact that the Big 3 had the meltdown they did, quite frankly, is embarrassing. Makes Canada look like a very bad place for international investment. The Big 3 are trying to save face by saying they'll continue to pressure the government to change the "unfair" laws. :-/ Quote
sharkman Posted September 4, 2013 Report Posted September 4, 2013 They spent all of that money for nothing, that's kind of a hoot! Quote
kimmy Posted September 4, 2013 Report Posted September 4, 2013 Personally I don't mind that the big 3 are getting their panties in a wad over this because they are lying to the public about the situation. They whine about a level playing field when they own 90% of the market with cartel like control. Which is why they aren't allowed to buy up the small players when Verizon, with 0 market share will be allowed to. They whine about losing jobs when they have call centers off shore. And if they have to lay off some people, chances are Verizon will be hiring some. They whine that Verizon will be given access to the grid/system that took 25 years to build, not telling us that Verizon will of course have to pay to use it. That is exactly how I feel about it. Hearing their fake patriotism on the radio 5 times every hour made me want to puke. -k Quote (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻ Friendly forum facilitator! ┬──┬◡ノ(° -°ノ)

You think you can just go hot and cold and jerk me around like that? Here's your damn flowers back and that cheap vase they came in!" <Sound of vase bouncing off a forehead> Quote
Boges Posted September 4, 2013 Report Posted September 4, 2013 They probably are too good for Canada. Are Telecom industry is beyond Podunk. I just got Seattle network channels pulled from my cable package because, according to my provider, the CRTC doesn't want so many American channels on that package. Quote
