Nova Scotia earns best credit rating ever (thanks to NDP)

Recommended Posts

Lots of conservatives are going to ignore this NDP accomplishment!

For years, one of the biggest guns in the NDP attack was the downgrading of the Ontario credit rating during our NDP days!

Wonder how the NDP haters are going to twist this one?

I'm glad to see some improvement. I'm also glad to see them taking advantage of offshore natural gas and oil development. It's too bad so many of the rest of their party are so against it. Anyways, does this mean Nova Scotia will stop taking equalization payments, and start paying the money they took back? We could use it in Ontario right now.

Since women are better managers of money and the NDP has had only ONE chance to govern, and the PC and Liberals have been for years, maybe the NDP will get another chance to prove themselves in Ontario. Everyone should get a second chance unless one screws up royally like the feds!

Women are better managers of money? Says who? I think it's more based on an individual rather than gender.

I'm going to assume you're just playing ignorant, since this explanation of the program clearly doesn't reflect how it actually works.

You have no idea what you're talking about. You like to paint Mulcair and the NDP as some anti oil and gas party, when that is not and has not ever been the case. The NDP is about sustainable development and jobs for Canadian workers, which is why they support a West to East pipeline. The NDP is the only party concerned with creating jobs for Maritimers, while the Conservatives are more concerned with selling off our resources to the highest foreign bidders.

Except through British Columbia........

To be fair it seems the NDP support a pipeline through BC, (Kinder Morgan Trans Mountain) just not the one you want.

Do they now.......Dix's stance on Kinder Morgan was one of the factors that cost him the election........Has the federal NDP stated their support on the Kinder Morgan expansion? I have not heard such a reversal (Granted I could be wrong)

So, does the Federal (or BC) NDP now support the Kinder Morgan expansion that will bring further Alberta tar sands oil to the Lower Mainland Chevron refinery and in doing so, reducing shipments by rail?

As far as my reading can tell, and in all honesty it's been hard as their stance is vague (a politician vague you say), is they support upgrading Line 1 and making sure Line 2 is built to the highest level of quality, not a ringing endorsement but not a protest.

Ok, but I’m forced to ask where you read that, you see, the NDP during the BC election campaign made it quite clear that they didn’t support either the Northern Gateway (new construction up North) or the expansion of the Kinder Morgan (existing) pipeline.
So when did the NDP reverse their position?

That's why they attack the "tar sands"?

Sustainable Development and jobs for Canadian workers. Sounds all warm and fuzzy. Who could be against sustainable development? But what the heck does it really mean? Well, it's an elusive but convenient stick to beat anyone who wants to expand the Oil and Gas industry.......in reality, they are wooly headed weasel words - to be used when politicians can't argue with facts. How the heck do you create "jobs for Canadians" by continually supporting barriers to growth?
