Hudson Jones Posted March 29, 2013 Report Posted March 29, 2013 The RNC outlined plans Monday for a $10 million outreach to minority groups as part of a strategy to make the GOP more "welcoming and inclusive" for voters. You think there will be any traction? How will they be able to reach the minority group, considering their, what many call, anti-immigration policies? Hudson Jones Posted March 29, 2013 Author Report Posted March 29, 2013 (edited) Oh and this: GOP lawmaker calls Hispanic workers ‘wetbacks’ During a discussion about ongoing challenges to the economy Thursday, Alaska Republican Rep. Don Young referred to Hispanic workers as "wetbacks," an ethnic slur used to describe migrant workers. He has since apologized. “My father had a ranch; we used to have 50-60 wetbacks to pick tomatoes,” Young told Alaska public radio station KRBD. Shady Posted April 4, 2013 Report Posted April 4, 2013 The RNC outlined plans Monday for a $10 million outreach to minority groups as part of a strategy to make the GOP more "welcoming and inclusive" for voters.[/size] You think there will be any traction? How will they be able to reach the minority group, considering their, what many call, anti-immigration policies? What are their anti-immigration policies? In Canada, were far less accommodating to people that come here illegally. There's a legal process for a reason. Quote
BC_chick Posted April 9, 2013 Report Posted April 9, 2013 Oh and this: GOP lawmaker calls Hispanic workers ‘wetbacks’ Reminds me of Bush's Paki remarks. I don't think these guys are aware that they are using ethnic-slurs because in their social circles everyone openly uses them. Leave the PR to the speech-writers... this is humiliating. jbg Posted April 15, 2013 Report Posted April 15, 2013 You think there will be any traction? How will they be able to reach the minority group, considering their, what many call, anti-immigration policies? The traction will exist but be limited, presumably, to upwardly mobile immigrants that come here to work and better themselves, not to collect benefits. The G.O.P. (and I'm a Democrat by the way) will never have good appeal with seekers of benefits. Quote Free speech: "You can say what you want, but I don't have to lend you my megaphone."
