She makes good sense. She's the kind of leader the party needs, imho. The Liberal Party is heavily ciricized by the media for having lost its way....no clear position.

Garneau isn't bad either, but his age is an issue.

It's still early but her campaign seems to be going nowhere, her website hasn't been updated since December 5th. Not much media attention on her either, Garneau is by far Trudeau's only real competition at this point. Maybe when the campaign kicks into high gear and debates start she'll make more of an impression.

I'd vote for her, and I bet a lot of centre-right people would bail on the Tories as well if she was at the helm. Trudeau, if anything, would galvanize Tory support.

I'm honestly even considering donating to her campaign...I just don't want to if she's going nowhere. I REALLY want her to succeed because the way she talks about politics is exactly how I feel. I don't really know much about Garneau and maybe he'd be similar, but I think this woman could definitely shake up Canadian politics and end the moronic left vs right shit flinging fight that we've had for the last 6 years. I think that Trudeau would be disastrous in this regard and would set the west vs the east and the right vs the left for the next 10-15 years single-handedly. He's already made it very clear he's every bit the obnoxious and combative asshole that his father was, or Stephen Harper is, and we need something different.

If the old boys still have an influence on the party then Martha Hall has a good chance. They owe her one. Remember that she "took one for the team" in 2005 by stepping aside for Belinda Stronach. She has a lot of chits that she could call in.
