WTF is Voctoria? If you mean Victoria, the Dippers won that by a narrow margin and apparently lost huge support. If you're referring to Calgary Centre it was predictable it would be a tight race. I think Alberta is still a rather safe place for Tories.

The CPC got less then 600 more then the LPC, nothing for them to brag about.

i think you're overestimating the damage trudeau's comments will have, outside of alberta no one will remember in three years and alberta just dosen't matter much in seat count for the liberals....just as Mulcair doesn't worry what albertans think about his dutch disease comments...the lone ndp seat doesn't matter and it's likely safe as that riding probably agrees with the comment...

That's why, as punked said early in this thread, these results will have little effect on a General election in 2015.

The LPC and GPC are stupid. They could have come to a mutually beneficial agreement last night and both benefitted. The Greens should have offered to defer to the Liberal candidate in Calgary Centre (Greens were strong there and it was a close race between the LPC and CPC) in exchange for the Liberals deferring to the Greens in Victoria. This would have potentially created two HUGE upsets with the Liberals winning Calgary Centre and the Greens winning Victoria. Nobody's up for strategic cooperation though, so we continue to have status quo. Exact same results with 2 out of 3 voters staying home.

Proportional Representation is the best solution to the divide and conquer tactics of the right.

Yup, when your form of democracy doesn't work.... Blame democracy.

Proportional Representation is what happened to Europe.... They look really happy right now... Probably like Canada's method right now..

Stop with the sour grapes... You can't win em all.... Well, try the right............

A democracy literally means rule of the people in Greek. If only a third of the people who vote are electing the government. Then its not a democracy. Its an oligarchy, the rule of the few.

We don't have a democracy in Canada. In fact we still have a constitutional monarchy.

We have a long way to go in order to overcome authortiarians who wish to prevent Canada from being democratic.

People assume uniting the Left will automatically lead to a victory. It's possible but how many people on the fringes of the NDP and the LPC will agree with compromising their values in order to potentially win.

There are many in the LPC that have far more in common with the CPC than they do the NDP. Also people could easily move their support to the Greens and further split the vote.

I don't agree with uniting the Left because I don't think a two-party system solves anything, rather it creates more problems. However, if the time came where that happened, I sure as hell would not be voting for the Conservatives.
