I was in a packed IMAX theatre with my parents and my wife. My wife made her way to the concession stand and I damn near got into a fist fight with a guy who was pissed that I was saving her seat. I went to a remembrance day ceremony and a women there intended to save 10 seats for people who yet to arrive too bad, snooze lose and all that, my daughter and I took two of the seats.... different than in your case, your wife was already there if you had put a coat or something on the seat there wouldn't have been any dispute, an article of clothing is the accepted signal the seat is already taken... For example: all good observations...I really get annoyed when I'm in an express pay lane at the grocery( 10 items or less ) and someone lines up with a full grocery cart ... healthy people who park in handicap spots ... But I might mention the item limit. healthy people who park in handicap spots ... That's a tough call. I didn't mention it, but her coat was on the seat. She took her purse with her. It was a packed theatre. Every seat was taken. So I somewhat understood his frustration, but he was being completely unreasonable. He was arguing that we should have gone to the concession stand before we came into the theatre and that he had every right to take her seat and he was going to call for the manager if I didn't give his wife my wife's seat and when my wife gets back to the theatre she should find another seat. It was really stupid. I said to him, "I don't really care what you think. Touch my wife's seat and we're going to have a problem." Edited October 22, 2012 by cybercoma Quote

I don't know why they didn't reserve seats this way before. The theatres here have a habit of OVER selling shows on opening weekends. It's stupid. Quote
