I also love kraychik's jab at me for playing video games (like really who doesn't these days)?

He got banned from a gamer site? Does he have any idea how many people laugh at him? One can discern reading his posts, he drips with hate for almost everything.

BTW...who doesnt? Me ! Dont own any vid games, console or the like.

The use ofThe Nug is pretty funny. Maybe he likes his music, but suspect that it Teds political stance that he likes. Which puts him in good company, Conservatives themselves stay far away from the flake known as Ted Nugent.

Two peas in a pod.

I don't think their is any need to demean someone because they don't want to have children. It's a hard job and certainly isn't for everyone. I knew I wanted children from a young age and now I have them. Not everyone is like this.

I don't think it would serve society well at all if people who don't children have them. I don't think they would make the best parents. It's the job of the parents to prepare their children to be productive and contributing members of society. That's a huge responsibility and not everyone is up for that and their is nothing wrong with that at all.

I applaud people who know they do not want children and don't have any instead of having them when the parents don't want them and the children grow to be a further strain on our already over taxed social system.

Probably. But I wouldn't think that selfish people would raise very good children and future taxpayers anyway. So, I would think, we're better off leaving the re population of this country to those that actually want to take an active role in parenting.
But in the past, many single people - who never had children - were good teachers.

Selfish? According to Ayn Rand, someone who chooses to be a teacher is objectivist.

To return to BD's OP, IMV, the world does not need more kids. We have enough people/kids in this world. The world needs more civilized kids, better ways to educate kids.

In short, BD should not feel guilty because he has no kids; but he should feel guilty if he does not make for a more civilized world. (Last point: Being a leftist is not being civilized.)
