Fixing a typo in a thread title

Recommended Posts

I've been staring back at a post on the "zon" of the Euro for a week now, and while I realize this was a type-o most likely, the fact that it's not been fixed... well it ticks me off.

I'm wondering if it would be out of sorts for me to PM people who have these type-os in their thread titles, or, if a mod on regular rounds would be oppose to doing it when it happens?

I think mods have better things to do with their time than fix typos. As for PMing people about it, there doesn't seem to be any rule against it, so whether it would be "out of sorts" for you to do it is a call you have to make - and people will respond according to their desires. IOW, I doubt this is an issue that falls under the duty of the mods.

Now, as Moonlight Graham said, fix the title of this thread - or I may be forced to PM you about it. ;)

Feel free to PM the person who made the typo. Report it to us too and say: "Pssst! Can you fix the word TYPO-O in the title to TYPO please?"

It ticks me off too. However, it is also an indication of the attentiveness the OP puts into his own writing. There is some value to that.

If you receive an email with a spelling mistake in the subject line, what is your automatic thought of the sender? With 99% probability, where does that email belong?

<_< fine...

Everything you guys say makes perfect sense. So I guess you are right and I'm wrong.

...still <_<

PS. No that's not sarcastic. I'm just grumpy that I'm wrong about something.
