PIK Posted July 5, 2012 Report Posted July 5, 2012 The NDP need a extension, before they come good on their donations. The other parties had no problem coming out with theirs, so what are the up to? http://www.canada.com/news/Tories+raised+nearly+million+campaign+funds+last+year+Elections+Canada/6884467/story.html Quote Toronto, like a roach motel in the middle of a pretty living room.
cybercoma Posted July 5, 2012 Report Posted July 5, 2012 Considering EC just informed them that they need to repay donations because EC didn't feel that the price they were selling advertising for was "fair market value," it makes sense that they would need an extension to work out the issue. Quote
PIK Posted July 5, 2012 Author Report Posted July 5, 2012 Thanks to the everyone for proving my point, if this was the other way around this thread would be full and gone on for days. Quote Toronto, like a roach motel in the middle of a pretty living room.

When the NDP is in power and has been proven to be as corrupt and guilty of a number of fraudulent acts as the Harper Conservatives have committed during their tenure, get back to us and we'll talk.Until then, this is minor compared to the massive attacks against Canadians that the Harper government has committed. Quote “This is all about who you represent,” Mr. Dewar (NDP) said. “We’re (NDP) talking about representing the interests of working people and everyday Canadians and they [the Conservatives] are about representing the fund managers who come in and fleece our companies and our country. cybercoma Posted July 5, 2012 Report Posted July 5, 2012 Sorry Rick. But election fraud is a serious manner, Election fraud? Give me a break. They sold advertising for their convention at a price that Elections Canada didn't feel was "fair market value." They're allowed to sell advertising space. All of the parties do it. The problem is that you're not allowed to sell advertising space say for $10,000 when the "fair market value," as determined by Elections Canada, is $8,000. This whole issue is not as big of a deal as you're making it out to be. And it sure as hell isn't election fraud. Quote

cybercoma Posted July 5, 2012 Report Posted July 5, 2012 (edited) So all parties do it so it is ok then. How many times have I heard that on this board. How the rules and the posting change when the NDP are involved. All parties sell advertising at their conventions because it is completely within the rules and legal to do so.Let me repeat the problem for you again, since you obviously didn't get it the first time. The illegal portion of the contributions is the cost of advertising that EXCEEDS fair market value. Selling the advertising is not illegal; that's why I said all parties do it. The money that they got in excess of fair market value is against the rules for Elections Canada and it will be paid back. Edited July 5, 2012 by cybercoma Quote

bleeding heart Posted July 6, 2012 Report Posted July 6, 2012 Wow, ain't that right... imagine the hyperventilating had been the CPC. - What in the world are you talking about? This very thread displays plenty of "hyperventilating" about what the NDP has done. Quote “There is a limit to how much we can constantly say no to the political masters in Washington. All we had was Afghanistan to wave. On every other file we were offside. Eventually we came onside on Haiti, so we got another arrow in our quiver." --Bill Graham, Former Canadian Foreign Minister, 2007
mentalfloss Posted July 6, 2012 Report Posted July 6, 2012 So did we find out what the NDP was hiding? Somebody better get to the bottom of this! Quote

cybercoma Posted July 6, 2012 Report Posted July 6, 2012 This thread won't have legs until we see the numbers from the NDP. At this point we don't know the difference is between market value and what the NDP charged for advertising. Quote
