So if 75% of the people in Ontario contribute only 12% of income taxes, while the top 10% pay 75%, shouldn't that mean the top ten percent should get titles and special privileges or something? Should the rest bow to them when they see them in the street? Should the top 10% get extra votes come election time? I mean, it's their money that's being spent, right? Shouldn't they have more say in it than you pukes in the 75% who contribute so little?

Nope - the 10% should be paying homage to the 75% for helping them make all that money. They got rich off the efforts of the 75%.

Without a queen, there is no hive. How many people do you employ?

Actually it is the worker bees that make the queen, the queen. They are the ones who are running the bee hive.

Jobs do not come from the Job tree. How many people did you say you employ, again?

Without workers to help nourish that tree, the sap at the top of that job tree dies.

“This is all about who you represent,” Mr. Dewar (NDP) said. “We’re (NDP) talking about representing the interests of working people and everyday Canadians and they [the Conservatives] are about representing the fund managers who come in and fleece our companies and our country.

So you employ nobody. You should watch this. But, it is nearly two hours long and you'd lose interest...so don't bother. Hey...are those Starbucks coupons still good? Perhaps we should go grab a java before hitting the protest this afternoon.

Breaking News: Conservative Think Tank run and funded by wealthy elite for the wealthy elite says that taxes on the wealthy are no good.

Odd... I seem to remember people saying that the top tax rate was getting close to 50% and that the taxes wouldn't amount to much anyways so we shouldn't bother.

Now... they pay too much?

Are conservatives so dumb that they'll fall for this doublespeak? Sadly, yes.

I bet these numbers include business taxes... shockingly, poor people don't have money to run businesses. You can clearly work out the personal income tax rates.

Hey, excuse me while I toss out garbage predictions in favour of the wealthy because I'm funded by the wealthy "The government hoped the new tax — an extra 2% on incomes over $500,000, which translates into a 3.1% increase when an additional surtax is applied — would raise $470 million. Laurin estimates the number will be closer to $450 million initially, falling to zero by 2019 as wealthy taxpayers adjust, and a net loss of $200 million by 2027."

I also like how the author just discredits everyone who doesn't agree by saying that people don't understand economics. Nice added touch to an obvious propaganda piece of no value.

Ideology does not make good policy. Good policy comes from an analysis of options, comparison of options and selection of one option that works best in the current situation. This option is often a compromise between ideologies.

I'm self employed. You 'workers' just get in my way. I only take partners, thanks. But, I hear McDonalds IS hiring. Hiring right now.

if not for the workers, there would be no McDonalds.

Conservatives don't believe in grass roots anything.

Just having a glorious leader at the top.

Um...nope. It exists because of the hard work of two brothers who...being self employed...started a resturaunt.

MCC: Now... they pay too much?

Does this show your nature? You will never become 'THEY'. You do not want to make money. Plus, you do not want others to make money, either. You'd like a level playing field and if that means being Robin Hood...so be it?

Your conservative black and white thinking is showing.

Bunch of cavemen I tell ya.

It started off with 2 brothers but there was no way they grew it by themselves. It is the giant it is today because of the thousands of workers. As for me being Robin Hood, no. I just don't think the big wig suit wearing pricks should make millions on the back of the people they employ. Give more to the people they employ instead of hoarding it for themselves

They hired themselves?

That would be as I described. You want Communism. Communism killed millions upon millions of its own citizens and continues to do so to this very day.

I want pay equality. I see no reason why corporate types who work in McDonald offices make millions while the workers make minimum wage.
