August1991 Posted May 31, 2012 Report Posted May 31, 2012 (edited) Here's the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6cZeJWemM8Y Paul Desmarais had a huge, temporary "tent" built beside his mansion in northern Quebec to celebrate his wife's birthday on 30 August 2011. You will see Charest, Chretien, Mulroney, Bush Snr, Lucien Bouchard, Adrienne Clarkson, assorted WAGs, but there's no Stephen Harper. Nor did I see Paul Martin (although I find it hard to believe that he wasn't invited.) If you want more details, you can read them here: Link ---- Several points The absurd extravagance of this party somehow reminds me of Emperor Bokassa or Vatel. But fer gawdsakes, this is the 21st century. It all seems so tacky. Socialism (Quebec Inc etc) ultimately becomes corporatism. When the State concentrates power and decides, some people will gravitate near the State. I still wonder what kind of contact Stephen Harper has with Paul Desmarais. August1991 Posted June 1, 2012 Author Report Posted June 1, 2012 (edited) Paul's bro. is married to Chretien's daughter and Paul is also a member of the Bilderberg Group, which explains alot.Paul Snr's son is married to Jean's daughter, I think. (Bilderberg? I have no time for such nonsense.)I think rather that Great-West Life is the insurer of federal government employees, and Paul Desmarais owns/controls Great-West Life. Make no mistake. Like Danny Williams, Pierre Peladeau and Ted Rogers (to name a few), Paul Desmarais made his money through the power of the State. Leftists want the State to do good, and protect the weak. Yet, giving more power to the State is an invitation to abuse. Politicians like Joey Smallwood, Jean Chretien, Peter Lougheed, Mike Harris, Brian Mulroney, Roy Romanow, Bob Rae eventually do deals. ---- We never saw Paul Martin/WAG in the video - such disrespect. Was Harper's wife at the Sagard party incognito too? That seems Harper's MO when dealing with Quebec. And I still wonder whether Stephen Harper has ever met Paul Desmarais. I simply cannot believe that Desmarais has never tried to contact Harper. So, I guess my question now is how Harper responded to Desmarais. Edited June 1, 2012 by August1991 Quote
cybercoma Posted June 1, 2012 Report Posted June 1, 2012 No time for Bildeberg, but you've been on the hunt for the Harper-Desmarais connection for years. Quote
Topaz Posted June 1, 2012 Report Posted June 1, 2012 I do remember Desmarais sr or jr, went to China with Mulroney since they own Power Corp. which I think had some connection to the big dam in China and I also think, they went to China again with Harper this last time. I'm sure he received a invitation to go to the party it would depend on the Mrs. and if Harper was comfortable with PC's and Liberals. BTW, probably most of the people in that room has been to a Bilderberg meeting or is a member, no nonsense, just fact. Quote
PIK Posted June 1, 2012 Report Posted June 1, 2012 A party for elitists, of course harper would not be there. IMO You can hate on harper all you want ,but he will never run with that group. Quote Toronto, like a roach motel in the middle of a pretty living room.

He's already attended their meetings, and again I don't HATE Harper, I don't think he makes a good PM for ALL of Canada. Quote
Fletch 27 Posted June 4, 2012 Report Posted June 4, 2012 No, but clearly he does for the Majority! He's already attended their meetings, and again I don't HATE Harper, I don't think he makes a good PM for ALL of Canada. Quote
August1991 Posted June 4, 2012 Author Report Posted June 4, 2012 My error: the party was in August 2008, not 2011. Quote
