Since 1901 there were 106 years in which Nobel Prizes were awarded. At least one Jew has won in 73 of those years. That is, Jews have won in over 68% of all award years.

As of today, 800 individuals have been awarded a Nobel Prize (including the Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Science). Of those, 178 (of which 8 were Peace Prizes) went to Jews (22.25% of all recipients). If measured by percent of world population, less than 2 Jews should have been awarded any prizes.

Peeves, here's my problem with your reasoning, or the reasoning of the blogger that you quote. (And yes, I may breach Godwin's Law.)

The Nazis said similar things about Jews in the 1920s/1930s as your OP says about Muslims today: "They are a scourge on civilized society etc, etc."

There were several million Jews in Germany in the 1920s and there are hundreds of millions of Muslims in the world today. To paraphrase an American president: a few psychopaths can be a scourge, and millions of people can be in error, but I simply cannot believe that millions of people are a scourge.

If someone tries to tell me that millions of people in a religious group are a danger to civilized society, then I look more closely at the someone making the claim than the religious group.

Hitler wouldn't have been a scourge without those millions of Germans backing him up. It wasn't him that conquered Poland, it was the Germans 'in error'. But that made little practical difference to the Poles.

Those hundreds of millions of Muslims are no real scourge. But their primitive mindset and socially retrograde religion are. Why? Because their numbers are growing, and their leadership seems not to shrink at all from violence and confrontation. Nor is there much sign of moderation through the Muslim world. In fact, every Muslim nation I'm aware of is becoming more and more severe in its interpretation of their religion. In ten years women won't be allowed to leave the home in Egypt without being clad in a black bedsheet, and I doubt Turkey is far behind.
