PIK Posted April 16, 2012 Report Posted April 16, 2012 What we have now is a card system, where you carry a card and buy the proper sticker (deer, moose, or small game and fishing onto the card. Now the hunter /fisherperson knows how it works. Now the dealer has a new machine sent out to them to do the stickers (machine cost the taxpayer $600. each), now it gives a piece of paper that says what you can hunt, but it does not stick onto the card, you now carry the card the paper and the game seal. Now you carry the card, the paper ,the game seal and a cable tie to put the seal on the animal, instead of the sticky one. The card system worked pretty good and efficent, but now... And you can no longer can mail in, now it is online or a goverment office or phone. Quote Toronto, like a roach motel in the middle of a pretty living room.

And you can no longer can mail in, now it is online or a goverment office or phone. IF you mail it in it requires people on the other side. If you want smaller government then this is exactly the outcome you desire. I personally think an all in one swipe card would be perfect... Looks like you need to keep your paperwork dry Quote
Shakeyhands Posted April 17, 2012 Report Posted April 17, 2012 First world problems. Be that as it may, the new system is stooopid. I'm sure more expensive to tun than the old. I like the idea of an Magnetic Strip Reader to replace all this junk. Quote "They muddy the water, to make it seem deep." - Friedrich Nietzsche
PIK Posted April 17, 2012 Author Report Posted April 17, 2012 One more thing, when you buy a deer lic, you received a form for your doe tag and you sent it in, now you have to go to a ONT service centre and fill out a form there. All this is and the gun reg was to force people to quit. And alot of people have. I am so sick of animal and eco terroists. Quote Toronto, like a roach motel in the middle of a pretty living room.

So What? You are the one who doesn't want to do things online, and the fact that you can get everything at these Private Delivery outlets makes it more accessible for you.. not less. The Companies big and small do this for a small fee and for the bigger outlets its to draw customers into their stores. All this is and the gun reg was to force people to quit. And alot of people have. I am so sick of animal and eco terroists. Animal and eco terrorists have nothing to do with your problems. You are looking for a scape goat. You ask for smaller government... and you got it.. Its not perfect... and the world won't come to an end. Doing it this way saves the government money. Edited April 17, 2012 by madmax Quote

It takes a lot less time to process hunting and fishing licences, and with the thermal machines, ink is no longer needed for printing the various licences and tags. Quote

I sell lic's , I know what I am talking about and it has nothing to do with smaller goverment ,actually it makes it bigger. They had to hire more peoople, to put this together. And when does buying 1000's of machine @ $600, save money. We has a simple system before, it is not simple anymore. Sorry but but you can't defend dalton on this one. Typical city people doing things they have no idea about. Quote Toronto, like a roach motel in the middle of a pretty living room.
PIK Posted April 17, 2012 Author Report Posted April 17, 2012 There are animal terrorists that use red tape instead of explosives? And they're goats? I wonder where the animal terrorists are over the slaughter of race horses when they take out the slots at racetracks, which is another attack on the rural people. Do you think the people are going to keep and feed these animals, I don't think so. Quote Toronto, like a roach motel in the middle of a pretty living room.

I suppose the racehorses could become animal terrorists too. I don't know how good they are implementing bureaucracy though. My "City" has 1200 people and one stop light but that is roughly 30 miles from the concession I live on. Please explain how it makes government bigger , cause once you have done so... you will be on my side. However, I highly doubt they hired anyone to put this together.. possibly a well connected firm ... and another private contract. And don't blame me for Dalton.. he comes from your neck of the woods... Quote

I was sympathetic to PIK's issue until he went off the rails at the "animal and eco terrorists". That's where you lost me PIK. And that's where the jokes started. Quote

When harper annouced that a few thousnad PS jobs were going to disappear, people went nuts, but with the desicion to cut the horse racing, cost about 4800 jobs, where is the outrage? And these people will not walk away with a severance package. Quote Toronto, like a roach motel in the middle of a pretty living room.
