The_Squid Posted April 11, 2012 Report Posted April 11, 2012 (edited) I like the "but our violence is never as bad as their violence" in every one of your threads. There is plenty of violence by all the major religions. Jews have more than their fair share. Claiming a biblical birthright to someone else's land and taking it by force is violent and happens all the time. Edited April 11, 2012 by The_Squid Quote

There is plenty of violence by all the major religions. Jews have more than their fair share. You are gravely misreading my posts. What I am saying is that just as when man bites dog it's news but not vice versa, when Jews commit horrific, senseless violence it's news, but when Muslims commit such violence it's dinner or laundry. Claiming a biblical birthright to someone else's land and taking it by force is violent and happens all the time. What you're saying is that all prior mass migrations of peoples were excusable but the Jews' more or less forced exit from Europe is "taking (land) by force"? When is Kaliningrad going to be returned by Russia to Poland? When will Vietnam free South Vietnam? When will China free Tibet? When will Russia stop meddling in Georgia and South Ossetia? When will Russia return the Kurile Islands to Japan? When will Sudan refrain from military attacks on South Sudan? Shady Posted April 11, 2012 Report Posted April 11, 2012 I think the reason that nobody made fun of the Jews on this message board last weekend is that we didn't hear about any Jews making complete asses of themselves. We didn't hear about Christians making asses of themselves either. Except for one particular person. I guess that's tantamount to Christians huh? It's interesting that you made the effort to go and look for that particular information. I hadn't heard about it at all, online, or in the news until you posted it. I'm not sure if any similar and recent Jewish examples exist. But, you probably didn't bother looking for any. Did you? Thirdly, just look at the titles of the threads. This one is happy passover, the other one is happy Jesus death day. Hmmm, interesting. Why not happy ten plagues of Egypt day instead? We all know why. Quote

The_Squid Posted April 12, 2012 Report Posted April 12, 2012 Which asks when does a response to attack or pending attack become an invasion? Lol. Taking land, settling it then building walls and fences through villages is not a " response to an attack". Quote
jbg Posted April 12, 2012 Report Posted April 12, 2012 Lol. Taking land, settling it then building walls and fences through villages is not a " response to an attack". Are you saying that if Israel takes land in response to an attack and the other side doesn't agree to lay off future attacks, the land should lay fallow for years? Or be allowed to the base for yet more attacks? You've got to be kidding. Quote Free speech: "You can say what you want, but I don't have to lend you my megaphone." Israel waited a long time until it started settling the land; except for Jerusalem. The Arabs did not respond to numerous entreaties to bargain before the settlement process started. jbg Posted April 13, 2012 Report Posted April 13, 2012 So it wasn't a response to attack. It was an invasion. No. In 1967 Jordan joined the war after it started and Israel asked them to sit it out. Then Israel defended itself and picked up the West Bank. It absorbed Jerusalem immediately but left the rest for negotiations. They didn't happen within any reasonable time. Israel started settling. Get it? Quote Free speech: "You can say what you want, but I don't have to lend you my megaphone." This is the first thing that needs to be fixed. That is exactly the problem with ever trying to return to "original" borders. Such an effort would drastically overcrowd the Great Rift Valley of Africa. The point being that people move and the animus towards Israel is selective. kimmy Posted April 14, 2012 Report Posted April 14, 2012 We didn't hear about Christians making asses of themselves either. Except for one particular person. I guess that's tantamount to Christians huh? One pastor plus a bunch of Filipinos who thought it would be cool to mark Good Friday by crucifying themselves, plus thousands of other Filipinos who gathered to watch the event. So, yes, enough Christians made asses of themselves to justify using "Christians" in plural form. (in fact, the required number of Christians for that is two.) It's interesting that you made the effort to go and look for that particular information. I hadn't heard about it at all, online, or in the news until you posted it. I'm not sure if any similar and recent Jewish examples exist. But, you probably didn't bother looking for any. Did you? I didn't "go looking for" the dead Easter bunny story. It appeared on my newsfeed. It caused quite a stir and got national press in the US. Even those Christian-hating pinkos at FOX carried the story. You're upset that I referenced a news item about a Christian dumbass but didn't find any stories about Jewish or Muslim dumbasses or include a disclaimer that not all Christians are this dumb? How politically correct of you. Thirdly, just look at the titles of the threads. This one is happy passover, the other one is happy Jesus death day. Hmmm, interesting. Why not happy ten plagues of Egypt day instead? We all know why. Because both threads are jokes? Wishing the board's newest neo-Nazi a Happy Passover was pretty funny. Boges said that the other thread title was just a joke, and I'm pretty sure he's not an anti-Christian bigot: If Jesus had died and stayed dead and Good Friday was a day to remember him like we remember veterans on Remembrance Day I would see all your points. But the belief is that Jesus sacrificed himself and conquered death, so I don't see it as such a solomn day. To pretend to be sad about what happened to Jesus when it was all in the cards from the time of Isiah would be kind of faking it wouldn't it? -k Quote (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻ Friendly forum facilitator! ┬──┬◡ノ(° -°ノ)
