cybercoma Posted April 1, 2012 Report Posted April 1, 2012 Exactly. Some people don't understand that health care eligibility is based mostly on residency. And residency is not citizenship, but thanks for coming out. Quote
Guest American Woman Posted April 1, 2012 Report Posted April 1, 2012 (edited) If he can find a job in the US. It's not easy getting a position as a prof. It isn't? How would you know? As it stands, he already has a job in Virginia. Canada's loss. Sad that Canada's health care system kicks people like him out, preventing them from becoming citizens - productive, as they are. That's one way to keep health care costs down - but doesn't really say much for immigration policy in such a 'culturally diverse, tolerant' country. Edited April 1, 2012 by American Woman Quote

Quote “There is a limit to how much we can constantly say no to the political masters in Washington. All we had was Afghanistan to wave. On every other file we were offside. Eventually we came onside on Haiti, so we got another arrow in our quiver." --Bill Graham, Former Canadian Foreign Minister, 2007

bleeding heart Posted April 1, 2012 Report Posted April 1, 2012 It's not a "blunder," it's Canadian immigration policy. On the contrary, those are synonyms.
