After then I don't agree. He lasted 4 days and a few minutes into 1973. He only acquired French citizenship because his wife is French. Edit: OK, I checked Wikipedia. His Mum is French Canadian and his Dad is Irish-Canadian. Still wouldn't call him a Frenchman. The name sounds like a villain in an old movie: "The damsel was abducted and tied to the train tracks by the evil Thomas Mulcair". Quote

I'm sure the French in Quebec appreciate him giving a full response in French only to the French media. In years past, they would give mixed bilingual responses and the translators are annoying. In any case, if you're concerned he's saying one thing in French and something else in English, grab an article off Le Devoir and run it through Google Translate. He's saying the same things to English and French Canada. Quote
